motu ultralite mk3 hybrid works like a charm with mac, if you want a better sounding sound card thats also hassle free with mac (also windows) get an 'echo audiofire 4, 8 or 12, depending on how many inputs or outputs you need

For the amount of money youre about to spend you can buy a super pc instead, for half the price!, only thing you wouldnt be able to use logic. I can send you the specs of my tower beast if youre interested so you get an idea and check the prices for yourself.

I would never buy it new and I already have a nice PC.
What I like at the iMac is that Phat nice Screen which would cost alone around 999€
Yeah, I out myself I love glossy screen.
But pfff, a too big resolution can be hindering as well, try to read some plugins on a 2550 x 1440 resolution

What I dislike is that replacing a harddrive is quite complicated since you have to use the same brand as built in or modify things to make thing work...

Only thing would be to built in a SSD but €€€

Another negative issue is that it seems to get quite hot and some reported that it get loud.

Ergo I stay with my super silent custom built.

It only was a consideration after I found good (used) price.

P.S: I prefer Cubase over Logic           http://facebook.com/ansolas

I had an imac i5 which used to get very hot (i live in malta very hot country), and my hard disk broke down after a year, i bought it second hand and to replace it costed me a fortune!!, who ever got the idea that a mac is flawless and doesnt give trouble is wrong.

I sold the imac after i repaired it and bought a tower pc with a great msi motherboard and excellent cooling, and thats what i call flawless, as for the 'glossy screen', i bought myslef an additional screen, a sony 40 inch full hd, and believe me when i tell you! thats what i call a screen!! , and the pc and the sony screen costed me only 200 euro more than the imac!
