hey guys hopefully you can help me out!

i hate the cubase soundcard settings, i alsways have had problems with this and if i get it to work, there comes new problems spontaneously.

i have the echo audiofire 4 and windows7. my onboard soundcard is not active.

i cant play any music while cubase is running. disable asio function for background helps, but then i always get stupid messages when i open cubase again, and that way i just can work in cubase or listen to youtube, but i cant run both at the same time. so how do i record youtube sounds for example?

next problem! when i want record with the microphone i have to open a new project, because in the old project the routing is different and i cant change it! no way. (because cubase dont get signals, or i cant activate channels...)

next. from time to time i open projects and
my old soundcard (EMU 1212m) appears in the routings and nothing works (no sound). BUT, this is a new project, and i never used the EMU soundcard with this.
when this happenes i have to close the project, then open a new preset project (recording vocals for example), then close it again and open my real project again.

why cant i set it up for recording, mixing, hearing windows sounds... AT THE SAME TIME?
and why the fuck my old soundcard messes this up, the soundcard even never was running on my new computer.

all this extremly kills my workflow, and it seems i cant find a solution for this

ive had similar problems with my old machine and cubase SX3...          www.soundcloud.com/orgytime

did you write echo support about this issue?

maybe delete cubase preferences to get a fresh setting.

i never had such a problem but i use osx..           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

no, because its a cubase/windows problem, not a soundcard problem...           www.soundcloud.com/orgytime

it works with other soundcards so i would suggest its a soundcard driver problem by echo.           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

i renamed it (its name was EMU-Stereo out/in) into stereo out/in.

now no problems, everything works... no errormassages etc. awesome
