Hi everyone!
This is my first post in here. Hope I get some answers
Now... I have a Nord Lead 2 and a Korg Triton. So far I have not been using any software with it, Just live playing with my metalband, Black Comedy.
I am planning on using Reason to start with. Is this a good plan you think? Is the sequencer in Reason good? The synths, vocoder, mixer etc?
And what soundcard do you suggest that I use? I would really like a soundcard with a few outputs and inputs, software mixer, midi etc. oh, and I need a standalone cause I have a laptop, wich brings me to my next question. I have a celeron 2GHz and 192 MB ram. Is this enough computingpower? What about in a live setting?
so far i have had my eyes on the Lexicon Omega souncard and Hammerfall DSP multiface...
Thats it so far. Please Help me

Yeah hi again.
Just want to add... I need a recording interface, not just a soundcard (as you probably noticed) So The Omega sounds good... Should I get that one? |

I have no experience with Reason, but what I can tell you that a Celeron 2ghz with 192mb is not enough for live..

I disagree, but you will need more memory - at least 512 MB. A 2GHz Celeron will run Reason ok but you may find yourself struggling by the time you come to the end of writing a track. Reason contains everything you will need to write electronic music of pretty much any style (except a high-pass filter or shelving EQ), but if you want to work with audio be aware that it contains no facilities for recording. You will have to use an external program to record stuff into your computer and use a Reason sampler to play it back in your tune. |

Reason is always good choice, but if you have such synth power (nord and triton) you should give a try to cubase or nuendo, they're very good tools for recording, mixing and mastering and leave the sound design side of your work to your hardware
about audio interfaces, why dont you take a look to motu or echo products, maybe you found them intresting for your needs

Keep it coming
thanks for the tips on audio interfaces. I still want to know if some of you have tested a Lexicon Omega... I need something affordable to start with
And I was thinking about using my keyboards and reason with cubase... is that a good choice? |

Yes. Reason integrates amazingly well with Cubase and the system you describe above is potentially very powerful indeed. |

i guess too that this is a reason to think about getting reason ( unless u get reason too...reason is a nice tool for shure, n via rewire u can use it as slave in cubase )
