hmmmm, afaik, the only differences between the 44, 66, 1010, is the no. of ins + outs? same converters, no? if he's only running 2 synths, the 44 is more than enough!
the audiophile is indeed an awesome card! it even has midi!
good luck! :) |

The 66 and 1010 feature digital ins/outs (SP/DIF) as well. |

First of all thanx 4 the loads of info...
So if a im running my synths on a usb 2 midi interface (motu fastlane) then it doesnt really matter if the soundcard has a midi interface or not.. right? But doesnt that effect the latency? Isn`t it better 2 go directly 2 the card?

A friend of mine has the SB LIVE, and it comes with the midi built in! and all the in/out's you need dude. btw, i never understood the concept of soundcards that don't come with a midi connection. Why is it sperate? anyone? |

mostly the professional cards come without MIDI - because they call it Audio card :) with many audio i/o..
a Midi card, they put many MIDI i/o - so they just keep them seperated - might be because of cashin more money.
Although, there are ppl who just work MIDI only - so they don't need a fancy multi audio i/o soundcard.
and, you might need more audio i/o than MIDI, or vise versa...
I guess you got the point here. |
