Its Been a while since i announced here i start learning to track with Cubase. now iv been doing some tracks and i really put in alot of effort and all but the problem is i can have something wich is basicly cool and kinda complex, but when i put a treck by a good artist say X-noize or whatever when he only does a kick and bassline it alreadys sounds like it kicks whatever i did in the nuts! i mean the sound he has already make the simplest thing he does sound better than anything ill ever do! so... i wondered... is there something im missing here?
thx....

learning & presistenceit's the secret...
you will se the different in the sound if you compare your old music with the new one.
my advice to all of the producer's is to use more then one equalizer on sample, the reason for it is when you use one eq on sample you make's the sample sound's better but when you use more then one you can makes the sound sound's fat and more "open"...
also pay attention to the mix between the samples...           ================

Practice, practice,,,, learn what are you getting in too u know, study digital audio, learn what it means decibels,eq,fx, why u should cut frecuencies , u know this take time and love if u love music u will learn to understand it all, cause those guys sound good because i think they know what they are doing man so dont worry this take time and practice and remember man if u love what u do u will have to know all about it           If u are Something, Dont ask for nothing
If u are Nothing, Dont ask for something

Yes, also had these thoughts , really got depressed when i produced in cubase and then put on a track from pop stream or altom or etc ... my track sounded like Crappp .. and many times i have actually gone home , cuz it was too sad .
Like already been said , practise/experience plays a great part ... fiddling with all the eq's and compr.. and so on .. but i think also one of the main reasons is the mastering . I can tell u . had a very nice experience .. currently working on some stuff for alot later release but i send it for a mastering engineer .. and the result .. WOW .. suddenly when only my bass and kick was playing .. the whole sound picture was filled out ..
And well , many other points was really really improved ..Now i can produce with this in the back of my mind ... that the After preparations can do the rest ... So focus on the production .,. make some good mixes .. and if good enouff .. spend some money on a mastering ..and ull hear the diff ... ohh and closed hh hehehe            3ó BooOoM ShanKaRA 3ó

not exactly true...
too much process on a sample can harm it.
if you`ll syntesis your parts correct you wont need even one EQ.
my best tip for you is to know how so you wanna sound like and never give up until you do.

If you create your sound right you wont need EQ to make it better...
every one have its own rules and methods.
in the past I also like to over- procces my channels but i find out that you can sound killer from the first place when building your sounds. dont need to make a sample and than EQ corrent it and again and again.
but we cant argue on that...if its working for you and sound good than who cares if you open even 5 EQs.

U need equing to cut unused frequencies on (almost) every sound, so u need in every production a lot of it.            Signature
