why is this? what can i do to get clear sound in headphones?
it's so frustrating, to make a track which sound great in the monitors, but sounds dirty in the headphones... plz plz help me!

As far as I know Wharfedale don't manufacture studio monitors, and usually their sound is towards the Classical music or Jazz.. They don't take heavy beat electronics too good.. On the other hand Sennheizer are quite rough little headphones - tend to be very aggressive in their sound. Therefore the difference you get, because your monitors and your headphones reflect totally different ranges of frequencies.

Good point of view about frequency range differences.
I know Sennheisers , but i never heard those Wharfedale speakers sound.
Try to listen to yo tracks on different speakers ,
bring it on a CD to yo friends , put it on a home stereo systems too , try to listen to it in a car . . .
Maybe you should get some "Monitors" and not "Speakers" .
EZ ,
Peace. |

munchie, I have the same model of those speaker, as yuli said they are not 'Monitors' as studio monitors suppose to be.
If you dont have any other monitors to work with then they are the quick solution for hearing what you produced but not for the final editing and good sound achiving, so if u r still gonna use them thats fine, just find another set of speaker that you like their sound very much and make a simple refferance.
I usualy dont work with headphone for music production, couse i can hear all those frequancies with good monitors or good speakers for refferance.
what i suggest to you is not to trust the Wharfedale speakers, they are lack of frequancies, try or to buy another set of monitors for studio production or just work with with them and make a refferance each time you complete a mix.
hope i could help...
