Only 3 days to go - it's definitely going to be a great time. I'll probably get lots of exercise running back and forth between the dancefloors after my set so I don't miss Satoshi or D-Nox & Beckers.
For anybody wanting a preview of what to expect from me (or anybody just wanting to hear some quality deep sounds), check out the Sept. 5 & Sept. 19 mixes here:

The party was a blast, as always. It was quite small this time - they never opened the other dancefloors since it would have thinned the crowd out quite a bit. It was disappointing to not hear D-Nox & Beckers (although not too disappointing since I heard them the night before ), but in retrospect it was a really good decision by the club. The party had a much more intimate atmosphere than I've experienced in the Butan club before.
Satoshi Tomiie - my god, that guy kicked our asses! He was absolutely relentless with his acid-house electro style for somewhere around 3 hours. He also seemed to be enjoying himself quite a bit. Far better than what Digweed played in the Butan club earlier this year, IMO:

holy shit ...
what was that? Satoshi Tomiie is da MAN!
What kind of music was that? I`m still not sure ... it was somewhere between acid house (back in 89), rock n roll and future techno! I didnt know one track in 3,5 hours! I didnt hear any bad mix not even a second of a wrong beat match! And such a great flow ... he had the crowd from the first till his last track. Non stop screaming and hands up in the air!
Fantastic !!!
russ he could be one for u next year !!! |

Man, the music that guy played was just so fucking sick. Anytime you would look around the crowd, people were either screaming or had these "what the fuck was that?!" looks on their faces. Absolutely intense - that guy could write the book on killlllarrrrrrghhh. I had no expectations for something so good.

You should also convince Tobi to have him back in the Butan sometime in 2006. Germany shouldn't have to wait another 5 years for his next return.

Also me really enjoyed the party. something very sprecial. A unique set by this Satoshi Tomiie guy, a nice atmosphere at the dancefloor and for sure also a more than respectable set of my "WG-Mitbewohner" Dr. Krelm ...
Will try to be at the next "Sound of the sun party", too.

hi gunter, "this satoshi tomiie guy" is one of the most famous progressive dj's in the world!
glad to hear he played better than "that john digweed guy" a few months back;)
acid house meets rocking-future-techno sounds like a winning combination to me.
chris: from what you said, it looks like i am going to have to make some room in the line-up next year for tomiie-san... |
