Usually the indoors in Colorado tend to be better than the outdoors.

This is fairly delusional.

Jeeezus here we go again... why does there always have to be 1 (or 2) who have something negative to say about every forum with a know it all attitude?
I try to stay positive and support whoever and whatever events are going on because the promoters put their heart and souls out there to make it happen and it's definitely not for money, it's for the Love of music |

I understand, but that is moot.
Indoors at Bat Country carry an easy cool vibe as the tenants are regional Burner co-ordinators, they do gigs at this venue, which is also their home, all the time, and no matter what show is going on a following exists due to the above points. One can through a show there with little to no promotion and still end with a decent turnout due to the venue/home's following.
These are the only indoors being spoken of, and very little needs to be done in the grand scheme of event organizing to actually execute a gig there.
This crew does a good job of executing gatherings, and if we're not doing audio that evening for a different gig, a few of us from our collective will be there partying also..looking forward to it...however, to suggest "indoors in CO are usually better than the out," based upon this knowledge...well, that's just plain delusional.
In fact, these guys haven't even executed an outdoor yet so...

And all of us can count on you to talk and talk and talk and preach about community, the love, the intent, but then not give proper credit where it is due. The drama starts on the NA piddly part of this board where shameless self promotion consistently comes from people who barely know the first thing about planning, budgeting out, organizing and executing a professional gig.
We've all tried to stay positive with our crews' interaction, but again, the backslapping that goes on with some of you and not following your own "code(s)" you preach about over and over in this little E-community you call home, is some beautiful hypocrisy.
Again, as I told Liz in person last weekend, if I don't have to work, I can't wait to come rage and let loose a bit that weekend....several of us for that matter, we love BC and raging to Psychedelic music there.
Then I start reading contradictory things to what I've been told certain "intentions" are for the future, the flip flopping continues, and around the ferris wheel we go once more.
Consistency would be nice, Nate, and much less hypocrisy.
Sorry if I can't let certain comments slide, but most of what you and some others say, especially here, just gets downright delusional and ridiculous.
I'll eventually resume my silence on this board...no one in CO even really pays attn much to this, so whatever, but sometimes people here just need to be made aware of the larger picture.
Take a deep breath, Nate, and start working a bit harder on the things you preach so much about.

::sigh::
I'm sure Liz was only expressing her personal opinion, based on her subjective experience, and not trying to judge or belittle anyone's event throwing prowess.
Can someone please start a "Who throws the best psy parties in Colorado: A Pissing Contest" thread, so that this (and every other Colorado event thread) can stay on topic? |

Well, everyone should stay realistic and more importantly CONSISTENT, and there will be very little issue.
The rest of us know where we fit in with all our business on an international level, plusses + minuses both, and where to improve multidimensionally.
It would be stellar if that could come from some other crews, especially the ones that speak the most on "working together," and "community."
"Psy parties" aren't even the issue. We all know that CO will always only have a limited scene that way. The larger picture is what we speak of and what we're after.
::sigh:: all you want, Chris....you should see/feel it from all of our perspectives....kind of a bummer actually.

So now, back on it:
I'm fucking psyched for this gig, I'm psyched to see Lawrence play here in town and party with him a bit, I always enjoy Solomoon's company, whether playing or not, I'm intrigued by the guy/girl lineup....good call, 'specially cuz it's a bit atypical and different, and Bat Country is always fun to hang out at, especially when I'm not runnin' a show there.
pArTyTiMe!!!
Besides, the deco and vibe at these gigs are pretty awesome....it'll definitely be a kickass ride.
if I don't have to work that night....meh.

blah blah blah.... drama , drama.....
Ok so here's my 2 cents on it. Take it with a grain of salt since 90% of my knowledge of the CO scene comes second hand...
With the indoor vs outdoors debate (if one can even call it that) it seems that Colorado suffers from 2 main factors that seem to inhibit it from having outdoor events that really go off.
Again this is all speculative from a outside viewpoint, so feel free to tell me to shut the hell up. ( in fact i suggest some of you take me up on that offer, as usually I'm not quite so open to such a idea)
To me it seems that the states principal problem is that the majority if not all the good viable outdoor spots are up in the Mountains, which even in summer, makes for some inhospitable temperatures. ( has anyone ever done or found outdoor land going east towards Kansas?. Im sure that while not as scenic, it would make for a overall more pleasant experience)
Secondly it seems (and i in fact did notice this when i lived in the state back in 02), that except for the real die hards, CO party goers are kinda a lazy bunch. If its more than a hour away, no one wants to put in the effort to drive there. In the rest of the country most folks dont bat a eye at a 3 hour drive to a show. However it feels like in CO, asking that, chances are you cut your numbers in half or more.
so theres my thoughts on that part of it....
As for having a indoor where the numbers come due to the venue. Thats a nice boon, and a feather in the cap of the promoter for sure, but numbers do not equate to a quality event.
It does take a degree of skill and imagination to piece together a well crafted lineup, complete with solid deco and other things that add to the over all atmosphere.
Anybody can take a venue, drop some speakers and book some random DJ's, but it does take a bit more effort to take that basic concept to the next level and beyond....
that being said tho
a outdoor is more challenging than a indoor, and it brings with it all kinds of new challenges, and logistical nightmares
Ok then, enough of that... lets put this bickering and petty squabbling to bed .. and talk more about how off the hizzy this show is going to be

No rush to use it quite yet, although excited about the future...

Seems not much has changed from 02 Paradigm. Lots of lazy pot heads who would only travel that far to snowboard.
Anyhoo...
I am excited for this and hope that we all can make it out to the spot for this and have a long night of Space traveling.( togther as a community ) just for you alex.
