try phase, try using 2 tracks and panning one to the hard left and the other to the right then try to delay one by 25milliseconds or try pitch shifting one to positive values like +4cents and the other the other to negative -4.
Some types of unision help to, reverb is really good as well, use short tails and small rooms.
Some modulation effects can help to create that as well, mainly chorus when well applied;)

if you have a stereo signal it's much easier to use a sample delay and delay just one side.
this is especially nice for short sounds.

mdma, this is the basic selfmade chorus i think.

im talking about stuff that seems to be direct infront of you,
or beside you.

i hear this also on most professional stereosamples...

also in ur "gotta swing" track, makus... i think i remember a rising pad sound come creaping at my back into my ear.

im sure its also smart usage of phase...

yup, i think a mixture of the tips here - stereo enhancing, strong eq work emphasising the "meat" of the sound and a pumpy compression

Of corse!
A simple stereo delay wold be able to do the job it the track is already stereo!           http://www.MindDoctorsMakeAcid.com
