Sound in Psy-Webs?

My question is this ---> what is your opinion on Sound in Websites? be it a Psy-Label/ Artist/ or general Psy-stuff
For example... it could be a simple "one off" sound that rolling the mouse over a menu might trigger, right up to a track playing in the background the whole time you are on the site.
I guess this goes for any sort of site really
Is Sound in Websites
a) annoying?
b) much of a muchness?
c) or an added element of 'coooollnesss'?
Know any good sites with sound?

I don't mind music on websites as long as it's turned _off_ when I enter the site... 
Since I usually listen to music fairly loud it can be really annoying experience both for me and my speakers when it's on by default...

i love when they have the on/off switch
most of the sounds are fine but backround music is sucky coz its compressed and looped 80% of the sites..
and i have winamp turned on non stop so ipreffer to listen to my choones thatn hear the background muzzz of the site [usualy]

Annoying!!
If you must, put an off button to turn off ALL sounds (music and effects).

i am currently constructing timSensients Zenon Records website, and am mulling over how far i will go with this sound thing [if at all lol!]

I just hate backround musc. but button noises are cool sometimes...an on/off button sounds nice and democratic so its probably the best way to go.
