For any artists out there who have music that has been streamed, Sound Exchange collects and distributes digital streaming performance royalties.

50% to owner of the master and 50% to the artist

this royalty stream is not the same as performance royalties collected by PRS and others.

I am not sure if there are any European bodies that collect on the same royalty streams. Sound Exchange were happy to distribute to non US residents.

so if you know there's been activity on your tracks [particularly in USA digital realm] then you might as well spend a little time exploring this and get registered.

the figures won't be huge, but they may be sitting on some of your money.

that's a bit random... not sure how that applies to artists and labels getting new royalties from digital streams.

often progress and leads come when people share useful info. I'm assuming there's a good number of artists and labels who probably would benefit from following this up.

posting it here is an effort to contribute something that may help some of the creative types who look at this forum.

There's also been some debate about the merits or otherwise of digital. Getting paid for streams may have a positive influence on how people see this type of distribution.

If the topic does not interest you or apply to you then do us a favour and keep the random comments for other people/spaces

^ true, sorry, I wasn't trolling.

I guess I misunderstood the intentions. I took it as one further step to commercialising things that are doing OK as they are.

So does this affect psy radio stations (streaming ones)? Or just commercial ones?

I'm not 100% sure...

I think for the most part it is XM and Sirius in USA.

there's some $ due to aleph and to outolinto [as overflow], but not as many as i thought here

they have a database you can search for plays...

in any case - makes it worth sending promos to people with shows on XM or Sirius. one who comes to mind is forest at waveform.

excuse me but what is the difference ?
do you still believe that what goes for "psy" isn't commercial ?
