Didn't patience used to be a _virtue_ ?!?!

every frequency is ordinarily audible. might your talking about perception, that's what changes thru trainning.

learning is always cool, but young ones tend to avoid it when they get frustrated by not learning what they would like to. most kids that quit school is not because they dont want to learn but because they dont have the smallest interest for what is being taught.

only my opinion

Not a bad opinion at all - agree with you - everyone needs to pick the level they are comfortable working at and where they won't feel overwhelmed.

Dear Sir Mr Father-Of-Muzik-Therapist,

If your son wishes to learn how to use music for religious purposes and for healing purposes it would be well for him to study under the gurus.

If your son wishes to learn how to use music as a path of spiritual growth, learning and devotion then it shall be well for him if he should study under the gurus until such time as he would meet his guru.

Well right now he is only focusing on learning best softwares n equipements, he was really motivated by that new track section on this website n the way others provide feedback for better mixing etc...but going forward he wants to become a music therapist, i dont know from where he got that idea but in India thats not possible so i might send him abroad when he is done with his schooling so till then i will fix him with a Guru, he already joined that training school which i mentioned earliar and because of summer vacations he is home all day n wrking on the comp AND encouraged some of his clas fellows to learn music now all day they are blasting music....poor neighbours!

Chetan i thank you for your PM but i cant send him to Mumbai for the 10 days course but i appreciate your and everyone's help.

All the best!!!           Music exercises the brain. Playing an instrument, for instance, involves vision, hearing, touch, motor planning, emotion, symbol interpretation--all of which activate different brain systems.

I'd wait a few years... wait and see how commited he is to fruity loops, and if he still loves it after 2 years, then a course would be fantastic. It'd be a bit disappointing to find out he doesn't love it enough to put in the hours, days, months, years it takes to get good at producing music after he started a course. Fruity Loops is quite intuitave I think, so he should be able to get quite far if he follows the tutorials.

IMHO its best to start learning some music first... take classes with an instrument like piano, guitar, drums, whatever...learn some music theory first to understand music better....its structure, composition...instrument technique to develop his musical spark and to learn that no pain, no gain..to think like a musician....theres a thousand reasons. in the long run i think it will help him more than havin a 10 day nuendo classes. Its better to learn in 10+ days some chords, intervals, armonies, scales, arpeggios... then well be here listenin and enjoying ur son in key psy leads and intelligent bass lines flyiiiiiiiiiing.

It really depends what the intention is. If the intention is to make some psytrance or other electronic music, forget the course untill your son has shown he can actually make some music (the course isn't needed for this. If he really can't create something interesting with Fruity Loops, the course won't help much if at all).

If the intention is to seriously become a sound engineer and make a career out of that (which isn't easy! It is an overpopulated and underpaid profession!), then the course is a very good idea and the earlier your son starts the better!
