the difference is like the difference between a tractor and an airplane (CESNA)....
they both are used for different purposes, and they can cost the same money...

Let me explain you that again:
* Sound blaster Live! - 1496 english cart:)
* Delta S.card - Alfa romeo GTV 2001

Can u understand the difference???

It's not the same technology and it's not the same
quality!

gil, i didn't mean to be nasty.

sblive is a "home-player" sound card.
it costs 320 shekels.
has 1 stereo input, 1 mic input.
2 pairs of audio, and a digital out.
sound quality - 16 bit @ 48000 samples per secound

delta xx (where xx is number of ins+out , delta 44 e.g. means 4 ins 4 outs)
is a professional audio recording system
audio quality:
24 bits @ 96000 samples per second ...
costs much more.
see the difference ?

fact is that if u'r ok, u can begin with sblive, for the training, but it's hard to make good sound with such a card. ( it's not impossible)

BOM

Bilbo,

The old Delta 66 came with a breakout box that has "Delta 66" written on it.

The new Delta 66 (like the one I have) comes with a smaller breakout box (smaller in physical size, not connections), and it has "Delta Series" written on it.

I think they did it because both delta44 and 66 has the same breakout box - so in order to use them both for 2 soundcards - they just didn't want to write delta66 or delta44 on each and everyone of them.

but for my card they made the effort :)
peace
