sound card- computer trouble....

i just bought terratec 128iPCI sound card & whenever i try to record anything it stucks my computer. it doesnt matter what program i use (from SF 4.5 to the windows sound recorder)it just sticks my computer. i have a pentum 4 1.6 ghz 128Mb rdram (800 Hz) 40 Gb disk space & mycomputer is neeeeew ( go it 2 weeks ago) i work with win98. pleeease help me. i'm dying (havent composed anything 4 2 months & my nord is starting to cry at night....) thanx ahead. |

There shouldn't b problems like that with brand new cards... Check out the hardware is connected properly - don't forget to shut down the PC and take it out of the electricity b4 u do that.. If u checked and it's alright then see if your recording parameters are correct ( the thing is that if they don't then u have to get a warning message.. definitely a crash of the whole PC ) More than that - if u find u can't fix it - go to the ppl u bought the sound card from and try to see where is the bug, maybe they should replace it with piece of hardware that works.

try to reinstall windows maybe it will help if not i think you have some hardware problem |
