Hi Guys
I am intested to know how you guys are handling the automation on individual tracks and sounds.
Lets say you have a lead or acid line. Do you automate the filters and all after song is completed or do apply automation partially within different zone?
I'd like to hear your opinions.
Thanks a bunch!

SO you saying that while you are looping and playing same bars over and over you tweak??? How the hell do you get any work done that way? I am curious.. Pls shed some light.. Thanks again.

Well he obviously means that most of the automation is done during the creation part. Like when you listen to Subra Snel Hest (the 2nd track in his player (http://www.myspace.com/anenburg) and you have a part like the heavy squeakin filter part then you decide to ramp the cutoff and reso up and down to a certain degree and that is done either while composing with automation or can also be recorded with hw controllers.
Another thing would be automation when mixing after composing, when you decide doing a fade in or out or some panning here and there. Actually you can automate things at any point of a project. It's up to you.
BTW - cool stuff, Mike.

Hi.
Glad I could help. BTW - no offense taken at all. I know the language barrier can be tricky sometimes
The mentioned track just shows a good example for an automation. If you're like grooving on a loop and decide to put that into your arrangement, you can automate the filter control moves, e.g. cutoff and reso (ramping them up down or weird moves).
Another example could be "triggered" pads. Like when you have a string pad or something similar and use volume automation or the MIDI volume controller in order to make a comb-like (up down) trigger to the beat (1/16 e.g.)
Some automation you might also do while composing is volume fade outs. E.g. when you have a delayed sound and want a "break" to move on with the next part in the arrangement, then you can automate a fade out or cut the effects volume down completely with automation. This will avoid that you can hear the delayed sound when there's supposed to be silence.
And finally you can tweak with automation in the mixing phase. Like fade ins or outs, make some transistions, or make weird panorama movements with pads from left to right and back again.
Just some ideas of what can be done with automation. If you have any specific question, just post your DAW system (sequencer used) and I'm sure someone might help.
Cheers.
