………………
We are very excited to announce the second in a series of gigs to be held in the 14th century church of St John The Baptist, Bristol….
For those that attended the first gig back in April will remember that we used the crypt for what was a very special night of live music. This time round we will be heading upstairs into the main church building. If you thought the crypt was an atmospheric venue then the main building will simply blow you away! Even better is the fact that it has central heating so no need to bring long johns and blankets. The venue even has an old organ still in perfect working condition that will be used on the night in-between performances.
Once again we have gone all out to bring you a fantastic line-up of artists including Simon Scott (UK), Tape Loop Orchestra (UK), Peter Jørgensen (Denmark), Field Rotation (Germany) and Antonymes-Projector/Visuals (UK).
All tickets purchased for the event will include a limited edition letter pressed CD and digital download containing unreleased material from the artists playing on the night. Tea and cake will also be served throughout the evening free of charge including some tasty vegan cake taken from Jess’ secret recipe book! Various merchandise from the artists will also be available to buy on the night at a discounted rate.

Simon Scott (b. 1971) is a British sound artist and multi-instrumentalist who is currently based in Cambridge, UK. Below Sea Level is Scott’s third album, released in May 2012, and is his debut release for 12k. The aesthetics of active listening and the subjective distinction of compositional materials and sound timbres are predominant explorations in his work. His music is a fusion of digital signal manipulation, micro-melodies and minimalism combined with environmental sounds and organic acoustic textures. He is inspired by his interests in sound ecology, music technology, digital media, illustration, composition and sonic art.
Tape Loop Orchestra is the Solo project of Andrew Hargreaves from The Boats, Beppu, Theodore And Hamblin and The Sea. It’s the place where he shares his most soporific thoughts and personal emotions in ferric-saturated sound. His output under this moniker is scant; just a small handful of micro-run CDrs on boutique imprints Ono and Lacies Records exist, so the recent double disc edition (The Word On My Lips Is Your Name) is certainly his most substantial, and his most beautiful to date.
P Jørgensen is a composer & sound artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Exploring the relationship between composition and chance, Jørgensen creates music by drawing upon a palette of acoustic instrumentation and field recordings which are transformed into luminous textures, crystalline tones and vibrant ambient drones.
Field Rotation is a composer and sound artist from Germany. His music is based on electro-acoustic sound manipulation mainly created with acoustic instruments and field recordings.
Beside his solo releases he also worked on collaborative projects with Aes Dana, Danny Norbury and Mari Solaris and produced remixes for artists from various genres such as Lüüp, Vieo Abiungo and Charles-Eric Charrier.
Antonymes (Visuals) music emerges from the adjustments and erasures where music expresses nothing but itself, from the relationship between continuity and repetition.
