I have had no experience with these headphones, but if you are looking for headphones for just listening to music (not production) then go for sony, they are geared for consumer electronics and you'll probly be happier with the sound.

just my opinion, take it for what its worth.

Well, I prefer Technics, cos they have really punchy sound, it pumps the kick directly to your brain

I'm talking about djing here, for home listening maybe sony is better cos they have smoother sound, but for djing, Technics headphones makes it easier to mix, and they stick on your ears very well.

The v700 is a great headphone, but there is a problem on it that really sucks! I dont know how to explain it but there is a part or it that brokes after a while, in both sides (left and right) that makes the sounds get interference or even break the sinal, than u just lost your phone ,( there is a year of garantee but the problem usually comes later) cause it cost like the half of the price of a new one to get it fixed, at least here in my country! I think at the studio the use is kind smoother as hip told, but for djing use go for pioner or technics!
I know at least trhee people that hd the same problem with the v700 and im sure there is a lot more here in this forum hehe

Don't make the mistake of buying the sony. They break after some time.
I'd go for Sennheiser HD25

I have the Sonys, and i'd recommend them over the technics..
They're comfortable, you can wear em for hours, and good sound quality and volume capabilities..i even wear them as studio headphones most of the time.
Best headphones for the price imo.

I've never used the technics, but I've used the sony's, & THEY ARE OVERPRICED! They are very uncomfortable in my opinion.

I've been using the sony reference series headphones for over 12 years now, and I love them. I've been using them for DJing & electronic music production purposes for almost 7 years. Not only do they sound better than the V700's in my opinion, but they are cheaper (for most models).

I bought my last pair of MDR V6's for less than $75 US shipped on eBay. For the price, I don't think they can be beat. The V-7506's are basically the same as the V6's, but a little more expensive.

I might recommed the Sennheiser's first for producting other genres of music, as the mids tend to be a little less recessed, but the Sony's definetely have a better low end.

Well .. I had the pleasure using them both and also with my old (1 year) headphones RPDJ-1200 . We made a test in here and find that the RPDJ-1200 his the stronger 1 from 3 of them .

Ill tell ya a little story dennis .. Few days ago i buy me a new RPDJ-1200 cause a 2 rebellious problematic veimaraner puppys (2 Month old) of my fe-dog was "Using" them for they own need .

Dont like the 1210 and the sony is an few steps & levels even under , Not realy professional and cant be serve the user for an many years - Dont talk on the sound right now cause there is nothing to compare (Can agree at this point with Mike A post) .

So .. 1200 . Try it by yourself . Cheers mate .. !

One thing I ever regret buying is my RPDJ-1200's. I didnt even have them for 8 months and they fell apart on me. Those headphones where heavy as hell and made with cheap plastic. They did have a nice sound for mixing, but theres by far better headphones out there.

Senhieser is very popular brand among Djs, I havent tried them yet though. So I cant tell ya much on those...

I had the Sony headphones........they didn't last long due to the flimsy plastic they used.

Happy Days!
