I used sonnox oxford native EQ for some weeks and found it as piece of shit besides Waves EQs. These days I cannot even believe that I've used it in past! I hate my history with Sonnox Oxford. hehe. I don't have powercore version
many professionals claim that sonnox/sony oxford powercore eq is one of the best DAW's EQs. So is there differences in between these two powered and not powered versions? calculating algorithms? or is it just about saving the power of cpu? and what is story beyond sony -> sonnox?
anyway planning to buy UAD cambridge seems to be pretty amazing tool

i dont think there are many differences or perceivable ones between powercore-native and cant understand why you say its piece of shit, it is totally uncolored and precise eq, you just have to use it where you find it useful, i personally use it for my bass with an inflator before/after, makes wonders
uad is best eqs on the other hand, go for it

In general DSPs work much better cause theyre dedicated to the audio processing unlike the regular cpu, so theyre saving your cpu and calculating better results and they should sound better cause of that.. However I suppose algrhythms are identical for both powered and non-powered versions, its just the matter of final result of that algorhythm..

used them both, no difference at all in sound as far as i could notice. the native is light on cpu, the powercore one takes quite some capacity from the dsp's. thats why i prefer the native version and keep the poco-capacity for the other tc-stuff.

when pushed its like a subtile distortion, tube emulation kind of thing, i remember an interview with one of the makers who also did not exactly knew what it exactly does but it sounded nice so he was ok with it. |
