Yo guys, the man behind the free soneq eq (my favorite highend and low band boost in plugins , love this thing)have made a console emulation , it s a plug to use on all chanels and buss to emulate console sound,he analysed lot of hardware gears and a ssl 4k for making this plugin. it s not free but check it out (i think it s 39$$), going to buy it as i love soneq and haven t donate for it , i have high expectations hope to not be disapointed hehe will report later .

yes, for that amount of money its a no brainer i think, and nice to have more control and saturation..i might show an A/B comparison..

bought too.. gonna give it a try , Zork do you use the soneq? something to try is the preamp gain stage in it (that sound great depending the source it s used on) + the console drive, might give great colored sound ! also when using satson with the cumulative effect (that is a big part of the caractere of a console) on all chanel and buss, less could be more with how hard it s driven in many case, we will probably have to explore and get used to the plug to find sweet spots like on some real desk. (depends how realistic the emulation is and i hope it sound great..)

ok no brainer for me... just for the vu meter it could worth the price alone.. add to this good filters and a nice sound (might not be everyone test offcourse) have to try it in a real mix situation to really get a idea of the sound it give to a tune ,should be good imo when used properly(but just for my short try the drive is very similar to some real desk but it lack some depth compared to a real one i used , it s not as phat, i would say it s 70 % there..it s just a short try, can t really judge the plug yet... it s the sum of many track that will tell and it will need to be learnt good first) |

it s maybe not as phat but it sound good , its what matter ! (with a soneq eq curve in the chain i could probably nail 90 or 100 % the sound i enjoy when driving a single chanel on a bassline for example,i was already very close just with soneq and a other saturator) but would not recomend that plug to everyone...more for ppl that miss working with a console ( and have that workflow of gain staging affecting the sound) |

and do not recomend cause i m sure many new producers that never worked with a console don t give a fuck about consol sound.
btw with soneq preamp and slight eq curves + satson driven + buss on phat i nail a sound i love , ahha so great now i just hope it enhance in a nice way the 3d feeling of a mix. (have some doubt on this..) |
