Ok, you set the location, its obvious you will not change it, and thats ok, but if i were in place of the organisators, or visitors, i would listen very carefuly what people from mne told you already here.

You just cant understand the mentality. Its not about law, i lived there for 10 years, for the 90% of people there, even house music is for junkies, and its like devils music and stuff ...

People in Budva go to parties with guns, with expensive cars, their girls wear high heals and everybody is power driven and agresive. Parties there are a way for them to promote them selfs, their golden chains, their versace shirts its like 90' when we were in war with the whole world.

That people would come to your festival not to party, but to be seen.

For the police, its not problem if you braking the law, the problem is that those policemans never saw people in weird dreses dancing to some music thay have never heard, they will think its devil music, and that you all are crasy, and they will have zero tolerance towards you.

There is a big diference between policeman that is protecting you, and a policeman that wishes that you brake any law so he can do harm to you, because he hates you, because you are diferent.

Only solutio, beside changing locatio that came up my mind is this:
To avoid local people, sell tickets over internet (local people who likes trance will find the way to by tickets), and pay for some profesional security agency that will protect people in the festival, because police will loking worward to enforce laws for their own pleasure, not for the sake of the visitors.

EDIT: I lived there for 10 years, and since i dont live there, i go there almost every summer because i have family there, so i know what im talking about.           http://label.psygarden.org/

...well, from what I saw on this forum people from MNE support this event, and I agree with you about situation there, I lived in Herceg Novi for 15 years so I know perfectly what are you talking about. But as you know MNE had electronic music festival called ENTRANCE, for 3 year in a row, with all kind of "devil music" and it went good how we thought, so it is possible. But organizers should know about locals and how they behave and Frequencysm said a lot about that...so be prepared! We would all love to see Sonica on Jazz so give positive thoughts for that...and support to the organizers!
And from what I know, it is very rarely to promote trance festival on local level, so I hope they can avoid local people, because they are not so much in trance...

Yes, of course its posible, i'm glad that mne will have new festival, and im not, in any way, for change of location, i just pointed out some things that could be a problem, so those things can be avoided.

I think there's no big difference between law issues on drugs in Montenegro than in Hungary, Italy, Greece or Croatia. Drugs are illegal so every attendant should be aware of this.

drugs are not legal - true!
but in every other country possesion of 0,3 grams of marihuana is legal offence, not a crime, and all you can loose is some money. in montenegro, local authorities are sending people in jail for 6 month because of only ONE fu**ing joint!

As i'm understanding, there's someone is trying to spread a kind of paranoid feeling about this country.. and it's almost true that is an action pushed by a certain jealousy or something similar.. well.. i'm here again only to point out that in Italy, where Sonica come's from, the law on drugs is even worst (one of the reason why we are moving out..) and that in Montenegro you go in jail only if you are really stupid and rough in dealing with police… while the most of time you can sort such kind of matters just offering some beer and keep being just friendly… Apart of that i point out that Sonica is a legal and official festival and not an illegal rave, so that should be enough to let understand all the clever people that its environment will be full safe and protected as always and in accordance with agreements between Organization and Authorities..
Sonica will be adviced in the official tourism program of Montenegro country for the summer 2011, and the festival will be produced in collaboration with Ministry of Tourism and the Italian Embassy, department for Culture and Events..
So after telling you that, who ever would feel himself on risk because not able to manage his life and his own private relations in a clever way, so we recommend him or them that it would be better to stay home or to choose another festival to go, and to leave all other people, freaks and trancers, free from useless paranoias, to enjoy the wonderful Montenegro and the amazing Jazz Beach, where everybody us will go to have a great fun next August 2011

Very soon we'll releasing the first big surprising names of next Sonica's blasting line-ups.

keep tuned

PS.

Entrance, Wave and Refresh festivals are highlighting examples of the positive success of such kind of events in Montenegro country ;-)

@ Gino

You got it all wrong... nobody is trying to spread paranoid feeling and it has nothing to do with jealousy... IMO people should be warned of what they can expect in MNE... it is wrong to make them feel relaxed 'cause there is probably going to be police on site and they want be so forgiving if you offer them a beer when they catch you with some weed or something else... people should & must know what to expect there... Some guys from Serbia (i am mentioning this because people from Serbia and Montenegro have similar mentality) have tried to pull of festival in Kragujevac and it was a catastrophe with lot of fellow trancers got arrested... i don't suspect that the festival is going to be great, and i will attend it, but i am going to be very careful...
Once again... i am NOT advising anybody not to come to this festival and have a great fun, i am just saying that people should be cautious..

Of course Retro.. inviting people to be cautious is what we did always for Sonica.. like when in 2007 more than 300people were arrested in italy for only one joint.. police is everywhere.. but nevere inside the venue according our deals and thanks to a strong and very important Security agency we are engaging.. i know that all over the balkan there is this fear about police, but we have experienced almost all the worst and our first target is to protect all the attendants and let them feel totally free..
Everybody who travels around europe has to care about police, so these kind of comments are becoming stressing and against our hard work.. Clever people knows how to behave all over the world.. and for sure it won't be such a small country to break the energy and the positive vibe of thousands participants, and after that all the sriuos deals with authorities will be done.. I repeat again that there's no reason to be scared.. and especially from the people who are saying to come to next Sonica, our expectation is they try to put only positive vibe and not creating useless panic..
Sonica will be a blast as always and its attendants will be so happy to have fun in this amazing place on a cristal blue sea that they will never forget this new experience.. please.. stop with paranoias.. 2010 summer festival is just finished and it's clear that everybody needs some rest after having been so high... Cheers! And much love to everybody!

Ginooooooo, my man...

I'm fuck*n' Motenegrian that lives in Serbia, my family house is less than 100km far from Jaz beach, and I'm going with my son every year to Montenegrian sea. You can't tell me that I'm jelous or spreading paranoia, I just know what am I talking about.

Quote:
and that in Montenegro you go in jail only if you are really stupid and rough in dealing with police…

And it seems that you don't know what are you talking about. Police station in Budva is full of disorderred fanatics, and that judge in Bijelo Polje (completly different part of Montenegro) is more than fanatic.
The idea of arresting someone in Budva and sending him to Bijelo Polje on trial is something that is not seen in Europe.

I have no paranoia - I live in Serbia, and have already been on raves that looks like nazi concentration camps. I know how to handle both cops and their dogs. The question is - do you?

Now imagine how it looks like when they send you to prison for 6 (six)months for that joint. Those links I've send in my last post (you should ask someone to translate), those are all examples (searched and found in less than a minute on google) of people that have been arrested with less than a gram of marihuana and sent for 6 monts to Spuz jail.

I know old freaks and their habbits, I'm one of them. People should be avare that out of that camp is extremly risky to burn a joint - 'cause penality is not 1 or 2 or 10 thousands of euros, but 6 f*ck*ng moths in jail.
I hope you will keep your promise about camping zone.

And for sure - I will attend

i am listening all people who lives in Serbia speaking so about Montenegro... but who knows why, all people living in Montenegro has different perceptions.. for mmike i have to say maybe you really don't know what was my personal experience in Italy.. and again you speak about RAVES.. so you don't know what is SONICA and how Sonica manage its relations.. So you are just thinking we are a bunch of young guys completely crazy for making a FESTIVAL there.. Except for last Sonica edition 2009, all the previous ones were like concentration camps outside, with all the police forces doing kilometers of road full of checks and stops.. and, my friend, police in Montenegro can just stop one or two persons, but they are so few to manage thousands people arriving that what you are keep saying in this forum is becoming too much exasperate and is giving a very bad impression to all who's reading and for sure not encouraging to come.. so how you can say that you are coming to this festival? and why you should come if you are so scared? It's not that the way to make interesting and constructive talks.. this is something to say the people: "hey, don't go there or you get arrested!" ...and it's a great bullshit.. so i hope that other people will come here to change this negative mood in order to speak about music, culture, nature, love, meetings, sea, holidays and so on... and f*c*k these useless talks on police forever!!
