ON THE WAY TO SONICA
Hi Guys I hope you can find this useful, it’s our own experience.
We just got here yesterday, and I have to say there’s a really good vibe. We flight to Croatia, Dubrovnik and had this beautiful view in the landing. The plane was landing into the woods out side the city, very impressive. Then we took a bus to Dubrovnik it cost us €5 per person. The trip to the city was a pleasure for our eyes. We had the rough mountain on one side and the crystal clear water on the other. Wow! The coast is amazing, full of bays and little islands. We stopped in the old city, the first station. Actually we should have stopped at the second one Libertas, but almost everybody was getting out in the first one, so…(never follow the tourists In the end the mistake was useful. The old town rocks! Actually its true! There are rocks everywhere; even the buildings were made of them. Roughs rocks were even on the side of the streets. We suggest you to change your money here you can find better condition then in the in Libertas station that you can reach from here with 3 different bus lines, namely 1A, 1B, 3 for 12 Kuna less then €2.Once there we took the bus to Budva. It costs 119 Kuna less then €18 plus €1 per luggage to be stored in the trunk. Again the trip gives you very beautiful views….The first border stop, the one on the Croatian border, came after about an hour. Passport control was slow but very friendly. We also saw two policemen kissing each other. Actually they were a man and a woman, but is always a nice surprise to see two people in uniform showing love. After about 1 km there is the Montenegrin border. Passport control was not that much surprising but still cordial and I have to say faster. Once in Montenegro you really understand the reason for its name: Crna Gora Black Forest.Trees and mountains everywhere till we arrived to Herceg Novi the first quick stop in Montenegro. From here the bus is always running along the sea. Sometimes you have the impression to travel along a lake more then a sea. A couple of hours later we arrived in Budva and wen to our friend’s house to sleep
See you on the dance floor guys!

HOW TO GET TO MONTENEGRO FROM BORDERER COUNTRIES
FROM CROATIA
The border of Croatia is 30 km away from Dubrovnik. If you don’t want to go to Dubrovnik city and catch a bus to Montenegro, which will cost you about 25 euro, you can directly take a taxi from Dubrovnik airport to Herceg Novi, Montenegro, and there catch the bus for Ulcinj.
However, Sonica will organize a transport from Dubrovnik, Croatia to the festival. You can find more information at http://www.travel2sonica.com/eng/travel.
FROM SERBIA
There are 2 trains every day, leaving from Serbia, which are going to Bar and also crossing the capital Podgorica. One of them is during the day – 2nd class, about 20 euro & 1st class double. It takes about 8 hours to Podgorica. The 2rd one is leaving in the night. It takes about 11 hours and in the summer you have to book a ticket 7 days in advance at the train station in Belgrade. The alternative ways from Belgrade are 8 buses to Podgorica, Budva, Bar, Ulcinj etc.
FROM BOSNIA
From Saraievo, Bosnia, there are 4 buses every day for about 20 euro. The travel takes about 7-8 hours.
FROM ITALY – by car
To come by car from Trieste, Italy to Montenegro are about 800 km of panoramic coastlines. The border controls are open 24 hours and you don’t need any visa or passport, but just your ID cards. |
