Glad it ended up like that to be honest. Budva although nice in some aspect is really big time commercial and insanely expensive.
Hopefully we even might get to see each others this summer! |

Hey Gino!
First things first, I owe you and the whole Sonica team a big THANK YOU for the great work you've been doing throughout these years. My first "big outdoor festival" happened to be Sonica 2005 and it has remained an unparalleled experience (except maybe for my first Ozora in 2007 :-P).
Now.... There is a thing that has been bugging me for years, i.e. not being able to find mixes from parties which one could either buy or download... Although, as of now, you can find some stuff around, the choice is relatively poor, as is the compensation for the artists who choose to share their music this way (that's an assumption of mine; I don't really know how, for example, Sound Cloud or Boom Radio work, but I am guessing that they aren't as profitable for artists as cd sales). I might be wrong on this, but that's not the point...
I feel a bit stupid saying this, because this concept has been around for ages, but nonetheless I thought that, if nothing else, somebody would spell out for me why this can't work: the inspiration came from a documentary I watched the other day ("Good Copy, Bad Copy", you can find it on topdocumentaryfilms, check the site out if you haven't already:-) no, I'm not from their marketing department)... In it, they mention bands and DJs recording their shows and selling CDs after the concert. It is so simple that I was baffled, wondering why this idea never came to my mind...
"Well, because somebody else had it before you and it didn't work!" But why?
I would gladly pay 10-15 euros for a copy of the soundtrack to a particularly intense night or a blissful morning. Autographed cds would be a great idea:-) Why can't a shop be set up where you can buy such a wonderful souvenir? I can understand that copyright can become an issue, artists might not want their work to be distributed that way... One person might buy the cd, while a thousand will download it when it is posted online...
But I am convinced that this could contribute to overcoming the current model, which isn't profiting to the artists in any case...
Could someone shoot me down for good or... maybe, support this idea?
Anyways.... Had to throw it out there!
In bocca al lupo per l'organizzazione... I'm sure we'll have a blast!
See you on the beach! |

btw, great line-up.....
but I just can't resist making this request...
Ital and Loopus in Fabula should both be in Europe sometime around Sonica... Eh? What do you say?
OK, no more nagging....
Peace |

Hi there,
concerning chances to buy cds, well usually there is always some stalls selling trance and chillout music into the festivals..
Sonica always had one and probably it will be again for this 5th edition.
Artists usually play their last releases and something new maybe still under production, so i can say that there are many chances to collect some good music in a good festival ;-) |
