Sonic Tantra Records Organises
Shiva Vs. Kali Project
B0m B0m my fellow psy artists!
This is the beginnin of a very new psychoactive sound label based in India. Sonic Tantra's aim is solely focussed to improve the designs and engineering practises of new psytrance producers.
To do this, we are making a compilation which gives the following opportunities to the artist:
1. Submit a psytrance track for remix to another artist.
2. Make a remix of another artist's track.
3. Get exposure and promotion for this effort.
1. Submit a psytrance track for remix to another artist.
First, we collect the tracks of the artist. They may b released or un-released. The label will make decision about accepting the track for remix by another artist. Also remember to tag the track with the host software (cubase, nuendo, logic, fruity)
2. Make a remix of another artist's track.
Once the label has a pool of good quality tracks, The pool will be uploaded to be heard by other artists on the compilation only. The artists can then send the name of the prefered track they want to remix(maybe 3 options). The label will then OK the choice and connect both the artists through the internet. Now the real work starts, you guys communicate and get the project files. At the same time, remember, sum artist will be taking files off you for his remix. Make the remix nice killer dark one, we'll be here to sort out problems if any.
3. The final result of this exercise, will be promoted on the internet and few parties if possible. The CD will distributed through 3 websites possibly psysounds.com (trishula recs distribution), nabi-records.com and sonic tantra label website (coming soon). Also, there are various other distribution and promotion methods which the label will put in practise.
At this moment, I can't really afford to pay the artists, but I assure the following things:
1. A steep learning curve for the artist.
2. A steep marketing curve for the artist.

By ganesha's grace, the project has been successful and recieved awesome reviews, request for compil tracks, fan mails, etc. I want every artist on this compilation to achieve fame and be known all over the psytrance world!
So lets start discussing this babas,..whos in for this trip!!??

Very interesting idea and really neat. I wish you the best of luck with the project. Will there be any deadline set for the remixes?

well effort is good but i have a question
by saying that u 'll distribute through websites is that selling out or just distribute.and if you r going to sell than wat r the royalities you r going to give to the artists?

this is for new artists and ppl who want to establish themselves. also most of the artists are going to be my friends and goodwill is the factor all money made will be spent on mastering/distribution/advertising the next compilation.
But again, this is more like a research project for me, and i want it to be same for the artists.
i think i already put it in much better words in the introduction of the label and concept.
