usually I make a loop first, with the beat, percussion and some sounds...if thats ok mixed and fits together, I start to build the track

I start off with it where the bass starts and let it evolve a bit...usually I build the intro when at least half of the trackstructure is done, gives me more stuff to build an intro from while refering to the track           https://soundcloud.com/hazak

What I do is that I build up a loop of like 8-10 sec (Depending on BPM), And I try to add as much to the loop as posible, and then trying diferent viriables within the loop. This creates about 3-4 min of a track. Then I start building an Intro, first loop, brek and second loop, then I start adding new leads, percs etc. creating a 3rd and 4th loop. Then i add more breaks. Finally I add the outro, and then add fx to the track...

But I must say, it varies betwen each prodution...           www.xun.dk / myspace.com/xundk

No method, all my tunes go off in random directions and I always start differently. Sometimes main melody, sometimes a sample (which usually ends up on the cutting room floor) most often kick and bass.

I make an 8 bar loop, some synth or weird noises at first, because I find the character of a psytrance track is more in those elements than it is in the kick and bass.

Then I put in the kick and bassline, and percussion, and try very hard to make nothing repeat so much over the course of the phrase.

Anything I come up anything interesting at all, I save the whole channel ( in ableton it's easy, just drag the channel to the browser ), and bounce it to audio. Maybe I don't use this audio, but it's better to have neat loops like that around or cut little peices out of them later. Freezing to audio like that also cuts down on sitting there tweeking something until you ruin it, and Audio is where it's at.

Then I copy and paste that phrase around into the regular sort of trance structure, and delete the purcussion from here, the kick&bass from there, put dropouts, make sort of little themes.. etc, and try to make it into a track using a lot of audio parts (which is really hard on my harddrive, btw).

From then, I don't really have any advice and every project is different, so I just mess around until I give up or finish it.

One of the best tips I can think of is to leave out the kick and bass until you have something really nice going without it.

Kick and bass is very fundamental parts of a track but if you create everything on top of them it's easy to rely on the flow that they create and not pay as close attention to the rest.
The end result is usually a track with more interesting content and more drive in the rythms of leads and percussion.

i make nice loop first includ all sounds until im happy with it , then think in what time of the track i want this kind of intensity in the track , maybe its not realy busy loop and can fit to minute 2 , or its very busy and can fit on minute 5.. then work my way from there           www.sattelbattle.com

Hello there....in the last years i make my songs from the intro to the last second of my track, but i discovery is a bad metod because somme times i lost the referencies point of the track.....and i have to start again.... Probleby that is the principal thing why must of professional producers start to do the high point of a music in a loop of 32 beats... and then is just start to play the differents sounds in differents places.....and working like that you never lose your orientation because you now whats comme next..... do you understand me...(sorry the english)
