I'm quite new to Psy-trance so could do with a little help.
Can any of you guys or girls recommend some songs for me.
I'm wanting to listen to some typical examples of Dark, Full-on and progressive. I appreciate that sub-genre categorizations are subjective. But I'm sure there are some tracks out there that would make for good examples from a future historical perspective.
There is so much music around now. So many genres and sub genres. With the opportunity of a wider global audience, diversity has multiplied rapidly. I think this can have both positive and negative implications.
I personally love to listen to as many genres as possible but with a finite amount of time available it can be difficult to sift through the masses of music that are available now. I could just focus on one genre and discover many songs that I like, and perhaps more that I don't but I feel then that I will be closing my ears of to a bigger picture.
I know many people here are very passionate about music, your guidance would be of much help for me.

historic milestones albums which have to be heard:
Hallucinogen - dementertainment -1998 (when you look at it in a very basic way, almost nothing new has been invented in psytrance since then)
Infected Mushroom - Classical Mushroom - 2000 (Even though the Hallucinogen influences in their music, especially in "the gathering" was strongly hearable, with that album they did something that hadn't happened before in terms of composition)
Atmos - Klein aber Doktor (maybe the song that made progressive become big)
Astrix - .. everything.. (was it he who brought the basslineomania and invented FullOn?)
Apart from that I find a lot of good music, but for me everything else is more or less already in the above.
I don't say all the others copied it, maybe they didn't even know it, but the mentioned were probably the first.
Thats just my point of view starting in 1996 and trying to keep the list as SHORT as possible.
PS: dont get me wrong with the strong hallucinogen influences in earlier infected mushroom music... sure they are unique as only few others, but for instance in a basic sounddesign wise they sounded a lot like hallucinogen.. the combination of the sounds made them sound different. Most of my music for you to download at:

Good point, but i did it this way intensionally. I wanted a producers perspective. I will be posting it where you suggested as well. So if you answer here then don't post there. ;0
