samples sound superb at first listen! i guess after some more listening it could become really outstanding!

But: Is there any chance to get this release in digital AND lossless format (wave/flac) ???

I would really appreciate this option very much as the physical release is limited edition...

I was not intending for the link to direct download of the 128 files to be available. I'm a little upset that you found the files then posted them publicly on a forum. I dont have the programming skills to mask the URL or I would have.

Now I have to go edit the files down so that they are not complete and re-upload them.

This is the same thing that happened with the full quality files of Somnia 004. People gave out the links that I made available to paying customers.

Hello, You should definitely start by reading about turning off "directory indexing" in your web server configuration and start with turning off autoindex_module in the configuration. It should help with easy directory browsing by anonymous users.

Good luck.

Why is it a bad thing if people could download the tracks easily and not just listen to them in your embedded streaming player?
Not many people would consider 128kbps mp3s as "full copies". I doubt you would lose a single buyer through something like this. But I think that full length samples give people a better impression of what they are interested in buying.

Downloading any music on p2p networks is trivial. People who want your music and not pay for it, will do so. Even via a web search engine it just took me a minute to locate a "full quality" direct http download of this album.

Ignore the copyists, but embrace your customers and fans! Give them the best service you can.

PS: For years already CBL have a donation button on their website just for the "pirates": http://carbonbasedlifeforms.net/

About 1.5 hours after I announced this release high quality versions appeared on pirate sites which means that either someone on this forum purchased the files and uploaded them, or someone on my email list. Either way, piracy does hurt the music. Just like when the Steve Hillage album came out and someone on this forum uploaded the full files to P2P servers right away.

I have left 3-4 minutes of each song which is more than you will get at any retail site, and more than enough to get a feel for the music. I realize 128 files are not good enough for some, but at this point I don't need people pointing out ways to download complete albums as I would think _most_ people don't buy music any more. Unfortunately, _most_ of the people I talk to at shows can't name which album they have, they just have a grip of mp3's they downloaded somewhere.

Either way, thanks to the people who do support the music. Without you I wouldn't keep trying.

All of this is trivial anyway, and besides the point. I hope you guys like this mini album and it makes you smile until the full release on Aleph Zero.

Ha, this came out the day after i made another purchase. Now i'll have to wait until next week as well.

Hopefully it's not gonna disappear before then!

Can't wait to hear it! I'm not even gonna bother with the samples - I don't think I need them to make the decision to buy this mo fo.
