why , i think its a very cool plug , just use it anywhere else but the kick and bass ..and dont use the presets ; )
like someone said , the proper way to use it is when people cant tell its Dblue glitch .. vb-1 , hydra , sytrus work good for bass too .

Muon tau is my first choice for bass. Many use chronox2 which is ok, but I'm not extremely fond of it.

You may try buzz. It is a freeware program that is user fed. I'm sure there may be some kind of a glitch generator available. Don't hold me to this as I've only messed with it briefly, but if anything you'll have a free toy to play with. Since it's user fed theres definitely some interesting stuff to have.

taor: If you wish to find more plug-ins such as dBlue Glitch, I would recommend you to browse KVR's plug-in database for FSUs. One plug-in that comes to mind is LiveCut from Smart Electronix. It processes your audio and rearrange it live in a sort of Squarepusher style (there's even a threshold value defined as SQPusher ), and, best of all - it's free.

yeah, LiveCut by Smarteletronix is an awesome little plugin. the ableton native version you're referring to is Beat Repeat.

i'm enjoying taurus, tritium and CM-101 for bass at the moment

the way the dblue glitch works is by applying specific effects to a small area of the sound by using the built in sequencer... this is very easy to do in cubase without having to use the glitch... with the offline processing capabilities you can do all types of stuff...

I still occasionally use the glitch too, but for me the fun part is making sure you can't tell it's the glitch... Also try looking up supatrigga from smart electronix... it'll do the same beat repeat type stuff that ableton's beat repeat does, but with a rearrange and whatnot... I use it for glitchy type stuff while playing live...           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

in cubase or most sequencers and audio editors you have settings to slice your audio and then you can apply fx ,cut ,reverse, pitch ,stretch... you can get better quality like this and it s more fun

Dblue is nice if you can get it the sounds diverse enough..it's the only glitch i've ever needed to use.

VB1, Vanguard, Cronox, DSP, some others..any simple synth can make a nice bassline too. I do mine with cronox, synth1, or dsp lately..
