I've decided to sell my Access Virus C and buy some better studio monitors.

Right now I have KRK RP8's

I'm very interested in buying some
Adam A7's

Do you guys think this is a smart decision? Selling my Virus to get better speakers?

wouldn't do so ... you will loose lots of money and a good piece of hardware (except you have no use for the virus at all).

it's selling an input device to purchase an output device ... would rather recommend to sell the "old" monitors instead.

no don't sell the virus to buy better monitors. sell the krk monitors to buy the better adams. You are not going to need two pairs anyway.

Alright I guess between you guys and my girlfriend you've talked me into keeping my Virus

Thanks for the opinions, I'll save some money and then sell my KRK's instead

..Give me the virus and I'll run thru GC naked and grab you a better pair of monitors while I'm at it. When I get out of jail we can discuss what went wrong.

If you are in America check out American Musical Supply! They let you make payments on your purchases so this way you can pay over time! It's hard to save a $1000 for studio and then just watch it go away. This way it doesn't feel that bad. They don't have Adam A7's but they got the DYnaudio BM5A for 499 each. 3 easy payments of 166.66.

The tops & mids on the A7's are sooo beautiful, but it is a smaller speaker, so it won't fill the room like your KRK's. The low end is present, but not as much as you'll need for psy. IMHO the Dynaudio's have a slightly better bass, but still not quite enough.

You have a sub, so you should be good to go.

Thats exactly what I'm looking for. I figure that if the Adam A7's have really good mids and highs, my sub should make up for what the A7's lack in bass.

I have an spl meter to balance things out as well.

I have a pair of Behringer truth 2031 A and a boneshaking sub. I am very happy with that arrangement. the Behringer cost around US$350 a pair. I would not use them without a sub, you mentioned you have one... so...
I just sold my cd j's and am in the very difficult process of figuring out wether to get a 5.1 setup or a Nordlead 2
and now you are telling me you want to sell your virus...
Decisions, decisions.
And whatever you do, keep your virus or sell it to me
