Constructive feedback...
Ok, we know the deal of mixing and the importance of good tracklists and beat/bar mixing but its kinda hard to judge your own mix and so on, so instead of just..

Yeah killer mix, bla bla bla...
Good Tracklist blablabla...

What could be done better, what can be done to improve your skills..?!

Agree !! But it takes time.. One have to listen to all the mix and maybe "rewind" when the mix between songs have been, just to check and hear it again..

But yeah !

Hey Denis, yeah, i know where your coming from bro. the only problem with constructive feedback on mixes is that, well, the reader's end up thinking that the guy "reviewing" your mix has a huge ego.

like, "who the hell does he think he is telling dj X what's better or how to do things" ...

i used to review alot of mixes but, well, even the Dj's sometimes can't even handle the fact that they suck at beatmatching...

i think people just play things safe now and go with the winning formula, "killer mix", crap !!!

if you want bro, i can review one of your mixes.

you still mix with hardware right ? or else it's not even worth the time.

unfortunately that was not the statement
raised in this post.
If it had have been just feedback that for
me would have been alright. But to systematically destroy some artists work in the guise of helping them is not my idea of posting. Before you all leap into print and say I am wrong just check some of the comments from the sender of the opening post to some hard working artist who only supply us with their hard work and then for us to be so picky and finicky, I noticed a couple of artists being a bit upset.

For me when you post you can help or hinder and I feel we should be trying to help the artist to give us the music we want, but we must also remember that there is a load of members out there and we dont all want the same thing, if we did all the sets would be 'full on'
There's constructive critisym and the other stuff which doesn't help anyone, in fact it normally gets their back up.

In an ideal world everyone would post and then the artists would know if they had done the job correctly for everyone, impossible task.

support the artist dont destroy their
confidence.

thanks for reading this missive.

cheers

I guess if you dont understand that when I say artist I also mean the Dj its not surprising that you
dont understand my 'comments in his review
thread either'.
Do you mean the topic poster thread or do you
mean the thread in Dj Electric Samurai's thread.

well i will speak for myself...

1st - i never thought this section grew up so big..reguarding where the mixes were posted there were never to much mixes on the forum..

2nd - i like several types of music and everyone has their own perspective about mixing, and liking or not, so what you think it might be good, it might turn to be bad for some and vice versa..

3rd . reguarding other musical genres that are not my favourites, or from the heart, i leave in the hands of the mixer to create something that goes rather well to my likings, and by this i mean: you create a dj set, i don´t understand much of that music, i will probably not be able to create a very good critic, because i don´t know much about that genre.

4th - not to much time avaliable is probably the main thing for not a much big feedback

I think what denise mean's is that, enough with all the ass-licking and, damit, if you didn't listen to the mix, don't shove your "killarg" crap down people's mouth's (i don't mean you, a3k) !!!

critic is always fun, but there are alot of mixes on this board, and to dedicate all that time for each of them would be, or could be, better invested in making a mix of our own.. lol..

It would be nice to have a rating system.

And have a format for reviewing mixes like:

Mixing: 5/5
Beatmatching 5/5
Track list: 5/5
Flow: 5/5
Coolness: 5/5
oVERALL: 5/5
