ok that one works.
the sound that starts on 0:02 wasnt very pleasant to my ears:)) but i like the track;)
interesting ideas imho, just changing too often (but thats probably just me)
and maybe the kick is too.. "strong" for me, maybe too loud?
..oh and that sound at the end? wtf?:)) (4:39) |

You overworked this track. One month is way too much for a track. You have good stuff in it but it's not related to one another from transition to transition. My suggestion is to take it and disassemble into samples and use in separate track. I think that out of all these I could probably make 5-7 different full tracks.
In general, when you are changing/transiting into something VERY different, like you do the whole track, you need to make a more silent break without any beats but something flowing. Changing so suddently doesn't catch in the listeners mind unless the whole style of the track suggests that. For instance I would expect sudden changes from Prodigy but I would not expect sudden changes from a chillout track. You see what I mean?
Whenever changing the BPM or mood, make a break without beats. It's almost like a reset before you feed the brain with new information and emotions.
The Kick is exactly right and it's a good kick, weak kicks make the track sleepy and relaxed, maybe that's what you want i dunno
Your bass doesn't move/energize the mind enough in my opinion, and you need to play ALOT more with it, it's almost static. I also it's missing alot of low frequencies and has too much mid range in my opinions. Try maybe using 2-3 (or even 4) different basses in a track.
In some of my tracks I used up to 5 different basses. |

Hi exkor,
thanks for listening
yah man this song had a steep learning curve for me, I start with a brother from another mother and then finished it myself.
My intention was to write a slow song to explore basslines at slightly slower bpm. I learn a lot about how to make different basslines around 130 - 140 bpm and sometimes even slower.
Its sounds so spaced out cause I think I captured a moment in my life where I am a slave to my macbook pro
Now I take all this advise and feedback and
I make faster one soon

You have good stuff in it just split it into separate tracks. I know that as a producer you will have hard time cutting stuff off because I have been through it myself, and wait til you start mastering for loudness then you will lose half of the meat in your track just to get it up to the "professional sound."
You may take what I say or not but what I would suggest is that you take it and dissasemble it into samples that you can use in the future. When I am stuck with a track that doesn't go and I get confused with it I move it into a "Junk yard" folder that later on I turn in to all what's in it into samples. That way I slowly build my own library of samples that I use all the time.
And in general just try to finish the big picture, without any little stuff, like FX and EQ, as fast as possible. The more you interact with the track the more dissbalanced it will end up. Take your example, you worked on it for a month and WOW there are so many different moods in it. It happends to all, including myself but the important thing is to detect this early and not waste anymore time. If you see that after a week you still not done with the big picture (I call it macro work) then leave it, move on.
I wish you lots of success in future releases man!
cheers
