Ok, here's the situation: I make trax on my pc with a nice prog called Orion.I got this really cool sharp sounding kick which "smashes" your brain. The music sounds ok on the stereo line in but when I record it on my MD it sounds "dusty"(not fucking sharp!), unclear or simply - it sucks!
Can someone experienced advise me what to do? PLZ!!!!!

not much u can do.... a good sound card is essential. what u can do - - try proccessing your trax using a compressor - t rax will do. - b4 u record, mix through the md - connect earphones to the md and mix while listeninng, dont base the mix on what u hear from the speakers. - make few recordings - high level, low level, more or less highs and lows, manual and aoto md recordings and such. one of the versions will come out ok.

YO!
don't record to md..hehe :)
if you have a lousy soundcard it's better for you to burn your track WAV to cd, because when you record it to md/dat from the line/speaker out your card adds its noise... if you burn cdr with the WAV it's not matter what sound card you have... the audio is written..
have funz. m0x. |

Then you can play the CD in a stereo with an optical output and record on the MD from the optical input then it will sound better. |

But what if I don't have a CD writer?
Maybe I can play with it on Wavelab? I just don't know what effect to apply... |

I'll think you should just adjust volume of record input output volumes.
I had same kind of problem and solved it like that. |
