I dont think ur using "limitation" in the same sense. On the one hand it was a restriction for simplicity with a purpose of focused creativity. On the other, its an arbitrary "limitation" more like an artistic choice.
So u cant really apply it in the same sense as u say ur doing the opposite of choosing 5 - 6 instruments (for focused creativity) when it doesn't actually have the same meaning, and in fact means that ur simply making an artistic choice. Although large credit to you for being able to use instruments with such skill, its not a counter example.

For every1 out there - choose some software instruments and stick with em until u feel they limit you. Dont just go and blame your bad sound on software synths and bullshit urselves into investing in hardware coz itl "improve" your sound. It wont and $$$ later ul be thinking "Fuck I sound so much better now" with a nagging suspicion that in all the important ways, you sound a lot like u used to, but pretending coz all that money must have served some purpose.
Marketing is very good at selling people stuff, even confidence, which is purely subjective. And thats all that this is. buy our product so ul sound great, and it will make all your problems of poor melody, harmony, composition, etc fade away in the splendor of a 1 button orchestra or a super phat synth sample.
Of course only real artists can actually use those tools to make their work unique, not amateurs.
Save urself some cash and develop ur skills until u really would be able to exploit the features. |

like we all said in previous threads... what matters is the human part of the chain. very few synths write songs, hard or soft, and it shouldn't *ever* matter where a sound came from. if it sounds good, it is good... end of story.

i spent years working exclusively with softsynths. i still use mostly freeware.
bad sound can come from Nord just as it can come from SynthEdit. the user is of utmost importance. there is no synth, plugin or rack-mount which can make your music killaargh, otherwise we'd all own one
i spent four years saving cash and learning about synthesis before i could get my Virus. it was worth every day / penny.
