you can buy a music generator machine that will find the correct bassline tone with right kick and the right leads but u know what, i don't think there's such machine.
so practice my friend, seperate channels- find the right eq, compress as you can and work harder cause you are on your way.
The best tip i can give you is, just make sure your basic elements sounds good together.
BD
BASS
CHH
OHH
then it will be very easy to insert new sounds into it.
Good luck

what they are basically saying is this:
try mixing the tracks in traktor...synchronize them...then move from ur track to the other side, u can hear a lot of frequencies missing (and u'll become very disappointed in the end, that yours dont sound so good)...
correct me if i'm wrong |

That's a nice tip ! I do something similar by loading the commercial track with the same bpm (i still use Traktor to find out the bpm of the commercial track) as an audio-track into cubase. You can beatmatch the tracks by playing with the track-delay slider. I find it easier, because you can make corrections to the track you are making as you go along. |

but this traktor thingie isint good enuff for comapring guys ....
coz the commercial trk will always sound better , no matter what u do ...
as it has been mastered and finalized before being released ...
so if u try to compare ure mixed down trk with a commercially released one , ull always end up tearing ur hair ...
so my advice is tht , trust ur ears , and as they go better with the time , ull mixes will also turn out better ...
there is no easy way to good mixes , than just pure didication and time ... |

This is a very nice method using Traktor for comparing track mix to a commercial track but only for getting a general idea where you stand.
I Agree with GTN track that have been mastered is not only about volume level and compression ,AFIK mastered track is also one that been fixed in it's problematic frequecies in it's mix.

And if you work with traktor enough, you can sound just like everyone else... weeee! Excuse me for adding that there are no shortcuts to making ORIGINAL art. Learn, experiment, see for yourself and you'll eventually find out how you can make your very own music while sounding as proffesional as it gets.

cut frequencies that you dont need,,,,,,,i cut everythin below 30-50 hz as it just adds hum to the tune,,,,,,,,listen to every channel and cut out frequencies using bypass to see if it affects your sound.....keep cutting if it doesnt affect them,.......try not to use sounds that are about the same frequency at the same point of the track........thats from my own experience....hope i helped i bit....
peace out |
