Heyo!

How's it going? I had been meaning to make a video about Surge (by Vember Audio) for a little bit because I really like it, and I think it's great, so I made one while visiting my grandparents for the recent holiday extravaganza. Unfortunately, it came out a little bit Blair-Wicthy, and I was all nervous and weirded out during it, so it's not the best. My brother got a laugh out of it though, and there are a few cool sounds that came out of the session, so I thought I would share it anyway...

When I got back to Buffalo, I made a better, more concise video and then made another in which I refined and contextualized the basic sound made in the first video.

Anyway, here is the better introductory video covering LFO assignment and some other stuff:

Here is the refinement and contextualization video (the one in which a Trance N Bass track is born):

and here is the original "Blair Synth Project" (now available in SpooOoOooOky Vision):

Enjoy!

oh yeah, I just wanted to mention that the sound design for the "Andy's Pond Monster" instrument from the "Slammin it Out" video was inspired by a sound that Dave (the other Tomato/Kabayun) made. He's real nasty making sweet sounds, and his solo album is coming soon from 2to6 Records.

Good stuff as usual- surge is awesome! I just started tweaking around with it recently. Came up with this electrical sounding lead that kicks in at 220

Loved those liquid (or whatever they're called) sounds, very Suomisaundi-ish and I'd like to learn how to make those with FL, anyone would happen to have a tutorial or could explain me : )? If not, I'll have to check out ableton : )

Gotta love Surge. My #1 bass synth, and 30% of my other stuff is Surge as well.

I love this synth.. I've done full tracks from just using surge... and you can find extra waveforms for it for the wavetable and window oscs that really help bring new life to some sounds... I know that it's pretty similar to massive, but I actually like the sound of surge a lot more.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
