Let me just make one remark, the virus emulation for the TC cards would probably be a 99.99% replica since it PROBABLY uses the same algorithms as the virus hardware synth.

Not sure where but I saw this discussed somewhere that the TI Powercore and Access use the same Motorola DSP chips, so it is in fact the same code, and based on the Virus Indigo, if I rememer correctly...
interesting thread, Elad. your name is my name spelled backwards - wierd, huh?

It's an iterative process of gradually coming closer to accurately modelling in software what made those classic devices sound so good, which can only be a good thing for plug-ins in general. Even now the models aren't quite at the same standard but they're getting ever closer. And don't forget the models go beyond the Moogs and 303s that everyone focusses on, and include all sorts of things from compressors to EQs to tape-based delay units.

I see your point and it's a good one in theory. However, market is flooded with literally hundreds of "emulations" and only few have something good to offer. I don't mind stuff like G-Media MiniMonster or Oddity but they are in minority.
Also I don't see a point in including compressors, EQ's, reverbs and tape delays into VST synths unless they can be routed in several different ways or inserted in different points into the signal path. IMO most of synths have 2 much FX and not enough filters
I believe that modular synths will be the ultimate tool in the near future. With such a high CPU powers available and highly evolved freeware developers it's unavoidable.

Yes they use the Motorola dsp processor, access probably just ported the code and algorithms to fit the dsps architecture

That the kind of equipment i want to use, compressors that aren´t transparent, preferably tube compressors, eq that isn´t linear phase. plate reverbs is nice as well, mmmm and the space echo gimmme more of that NOW! Demand recognition for the Armenian genocide 1915

Same DSPs = same architecture
probably just adapted for the Powercore OS, but I think we're on the same page here anyway
+1 emulations of tube and vintage gear, & any other kind of warm fuzzy logic
