Hi guys......im gonna start to buy my equipament to make my live.....but i'd like to make some questions first
1) What is DSP on sound cards??? (that RME hammerfall has)
2) What's the diference between a Firewire and a USB sound card?
3) Whats the best choise (considering price)for sound card to plug into the laptop to make a good Live??
4) And what's the best choice (considering price) for sound card to my Home Studio???
ANSWER JUST THE QUESTIONS THAT U WANT TO.........BUT HELP ME

actually, rme doesnt have a dsp strictly speaking., 
anyway, who needs dsp with the modern computers?
m-audio has, i think, the best quality for the best price.

DON'T TAKE USB...(sorry for shouting...)
USB is just not fast enough (latency problems)...better take firewire or the good old PCI-cards..andeh...U can't go wrong with M-AUDIO.
Best value for money !!!

Superglue, believe me...it's a fact...
USB audio devices can't handle as much data streaming through it as PCI. USB devices will also always be more expensive than a comparable PCI counterpart. |

USB 2.0 is better than the standard usb and allows streaming of upto 480Mbps, although I would definatly recommend firewire or wait for some developments in the PCI-X department! |

usb is not so horrible as it used to be
usb 2 could theoretically transport about 106 stereo channels at 24 bits and 96kHz.,., (realistically i think about 90 max)
firewire could possibly be a more reliable standard but speedwise it's about the same as usb 2.

How is the Firewire connection??? how is the cable??? is it necessary another hardware besides the firewire soundcard to make the connection with my lap top?? |

if your laptop has firewire then no you don't need extra hardware.,

which soundcard uses firewire?? whats the name of this hardware that i need?? is it expensive?? tell me a good one......

m-audio has got a firewire card out now...problaby not as expensive as the MOTU series... |
