I (and all my friends ) have been tripping out to Tipsy for a while now - I got the first album back in '98. It's called Trip Tease, and it still gets stuck in my car stereo, after all this time. Second album is called 'Uh-Oh'. It's not traditional psy-chillout, more like psy-jazz-lounge. (!) It's incredibly psychedelic stuff - check it out if you haven't heard it.
I know that these ppl are from San Francisco - but that's all I know. Would appreciate any more info about them and any releases I may have missed. (I also have a few remix 12"s with remixes by the likes of u-ziq, dj Wally, etc.)
Thanks! |

Tipsy fuckin rule!
Tim digulla & David gardner are the ppl behind it but they host many other live performers.
Their sound is so unique and authentic, but as u said, it has nothing to do with Psy chillout.
i would describe it as 1950's beach music ,hehe,or something around that.
Apart from their two amazing album they also released a remix album called Tipsy Remix party - got it from amazon not so long ago.
its good, but not half as good as the albums.
more info in their label's website

Glad to hear I'm not the only fan out there.
1950s beach music sounds sounds about right, especially if people back then ingested massive amounts of hallucinogens while getting a sun tan. |

T I P S Y
one of my alltime favourite bands.
you should check out releases from
atom heart under the names of senor
coconut and eric satine and also releases
from fantastic plastic machine. they are
(ofcourse) different but approach music
from the same angle as tipsy.
