Shambhu Shankar --> Pt Jasraj

Drums On Fire--> James Asher & Sivamani

Michael Brooks & Nusrat--> Night Song

Colonial Cousins--> sorta fusion but yea nice classical touch to it by Hariharan, specially the unplugged version

Pohankers are no doubt really good

Have you heard of the Epidemics? Its a band with Sakir Hussain, caroline and Shankar (not ravi shankar, this guy plays the double violin, not the sitar)

You can listen in Amazon.com a short 30 sec sample of one of their best songs that was included in Peter Gabriel comp passion sources. The track is called:

Sankarabaranam Pancha Nadai Pallavi

Go here to listen to the short sample (and scroll down):

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000000HNZ/qid=1141786021/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/102-1167238-3260907?s=music&v=glance&n=5174

Its a fantastic track. Anyways, this band "the epidemics" made an <<AMAZING>> album called Galaxy, my father brought in the cassette/tape from India and I listened it so much. One day I lent it to some friends and I lost it. I tryed to find it again but apparently the record label is not printing that particular album anymore.

VERY VERY SAD. it was soooooo fucking good, the violing sounded just divine. The other albums were more tacky and perfumed, more comercial. But this one was basically just Sakir Hussain and the Shankar with the violin. I just can't say enough how I miss this album.

Anyways if anybody here knows Sakir Hussain or Shankar tell him it is cruel to ndeprive the world of such deep and beautiful music.
