ok mate, here's a quick way.
I'm guessing you have some kind of pattern written in play mode, yes? If not write a quick one....
ok now you're ready.
Click "song"and open the playlist.
In the top, left corner there is an icon. Click and in the dropdown menu hit "patterns>split by channel"
You'll notice all the channels in your pattern are now in a pattern of their own along the playlist!
Build a sequence using these channels and then "export>MP3" Hey presto!
This is because you now have a "song" to make into an MP3 which you didn't do before!!!
In "Pat" mode every part that is highlighted (lit up) TO THE RIGHT can be "exported" (for me, most usually as a wav) or "rendered" as long as it is not muted (ie there is a light on TO THE LEFT).
You can select more than one by right clicking the extra ones you want eg all the drums or maybe all the hats or... or...the choice is yours, plan ahead and go mad as you like!
This is useful for turning large, CPU-hungry parts into smaller samples though you do lose the VST's functions as they are now audio and totally seperate from the VST so be sure you like it first! Or maybe for grouping many samples that will always play together as a time saver and to save that poor wrist.
This new sound that you have exported can then be dropped into a new channel and treated like any other sample with a little experimentation and imagination that is.
Hope this helps mate. A lot of times all the technological stuff goes right over my head when all I want to know is "how" it works, not "why"
Check out all the "mother of..." threads for help.
There are guys on here whose knowledge is awesome and usually it's almost too much for me but they appreciate a little effort from new guys too and when they see that, they are always fantastic for advice.
So get hitting buttons and turning knobs and I can't wait to hear your tunes when you are ready.
Keep truckin,
John .

There is a book called "The FL Studio Bible".. Haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but I have heard that it's very good...

no probs mate, any time, that's why we're all here after all isn't it?
A mistake I always made in the same way (but it might also be a good time saving tip if used right) was hitting "split mixer tracks" when exporting.
I couldn't understand why I suddenly had LOADS and I mean loads of the same kiks, hats etc in my project folders -I export a LOT(mostly crap though)!
LOL.
D'oh!

yes the seperate channels option depend on what your goal can be great
i do it for extra audio edits and mixing in cubase , so this option is saving me to do 20 exports instead 1 |
