1) im looking for vsts to make basslines like cosmo/higko/ect (experimental)

what would u recommend?
ive tried some vsts from mother of all....thread (vangaurd,vstation,albino,vb1)
and couldent find nice stuff in the presets.

2) can u gimme a link or just tell me what does the knobs/ect on vsts do (envelope : d,s,r,pwm,detune...ect , filter : cutoff, filter types, reso,..ect , LFO : cutoff, detune, pwm, speed) and a link that compares diffrent waves (saw, square, sine, synched saw,peak...ect)
i wanna know how to tweak my own presets
but idk what the knobs do and how diffrent waves differ in sound.

ofc i can experiment, but itll be faster to read about it somewhere. so..
any links/ help is appreciated
tnx

heheh quick guide synthesis

sound journey from begin to end , the way is changed from synth to synth sometimes...

Generate sound - Oscilator
Mix with second source - 2nd Oscilator

here we have the wavform to begin with

now most likely to find Detune and Pwm to shape the sound even more , detune slightly change the note (full scale is 1 semi tone)

Fileter - Cutoff is the cut point , if its low pass filter type it will cut the high frequency
resonance - will make the same frequency u cut in to boost or 'ring' , this makes up for the lost freqs u cut.. also have cool effect while sweeping

Lfo - this will work to effect other controlers , in specific wave shapes , u can have sine lfo on the cutoff it meens that the cutoff will act like you are playing with it up and down , can be used to "awake to life" some dead parameters
u will have amplitude and speed for this , to shape the "wave" style u want for control

have to go , hope it helped

Don't judge the synths by the presets - I have never found a good bass preset for trance.

Start with raw Oscillators in the right octave. See how they interact with a LPF w/some resonance.

www.google.com

and read the manuals of your synths.

o.k. i could be a little more friendly...

right, don't give a shit on presets. learn what adsr does to volume and filter. turn all to zero, start with a saw (maybe square) between D1 and B1. put lp-filter cutoff between 40 and 800 hz, filter env amount from 30 to 60, turn up both decays slowly...
then take some month of reading and experimenting
cheers

know what you want, /&/ if needed read manuals

for example you want snappy sound? get the envelope of all synths snappy

like a short decay for attack
middle sustain
and no release of filter and amp!!!

-> snappy track

no need to read

just need to open eyes and ears

rock it
