You will not get a speaker good in every area without spending shit loads of money.

I think you could consider the Dynaduio BM 6's. Not the MKII version. look at the second hand market. These are good all round speakers. They have enough power to give you headroom. 3db more than the MkII version and 3db more that the BM5's but go down lower to 41Hz.

I have Mackie 824's at home and work on BM6's, M1's , PMC's, ATC's and NS10's. The Mackies I chose for their bass performance. There weakness is in stereo imaging. Some people say they are fatiguing. But I have found that only poorly produced material has that effect. Anything well produced sounds smooth on them. I also think the Mackies need a well treated room in order to translate well to other systems. For me an upgrade would maybe be the Focal twins. But I think I would rather a second pair of monitors.

you have to try the monitors, maybe a store can send you demo pair? on forums every one is saying good things about their monitors , you can t make your opinion based on forums.try to have the monitors in your studio and mix on them ,except if you live in the middle of nowhere you shouldn t have a hard time to find a store that let you try before buy.

+1

Think about how many products are on the market. You would think by reading forums that lots of people have listen to all the monitors. This isn't the case. All that happens is people repeat other peoples opinions.

I have the twins. They are far more detailed than the A7 and far far more than the Dynaudio BM. They are so detailed it can actually be a little difficult getting used to them...

something to consider it s we are not just mixing but writing tracks, some monitors are great for mixing but are so boring to listen to ,it can kill the creativity imo

Would any of you say the bass in the Solo6 BE's is better and bigger, or as big as the bass in the BM6A's?

^^ i believe its not that big or round as the dynaudio, its more natural and uncolored
and imo the focals have the best stereo image and depth among all these monitors in this category
