where r they based?
and how come they release their CD's only in Japan and South America?
i mean, they have great Full On comps' (i guess from the tracklist) but i cant get them..
can any1 help me?

GK, it's Solstice 23 Rec.
started out as a party promoting outfit in Japan (huge festivals by Mt. Fuji)...it evolved into full-blown trance label, releasing in Japan mostly.
I believe that distribution makes it hard for their stuff to get to the rest of the world.
And they don't release here in South America. I get my cds from the Hong Kong-based saikosounds crew...since they're close to Japan they always receive Solstice's new music.

Soltice get alot of their licenses (I haven't seen them release much original stuff) for Japan only. this is the reason why they aren't imported.
Try asking in Trance in Japan section.

They license albums, for instance GMS and upcoming Kox Box, and always release them before then Europe...
And Eletronic High 1 and 2 were f*#king killer compilations, for those into full on...
I think that they get this license to release the stuff before because they can only sell it in Japan... (thatīs the way I suppose it is)...
But yes, ask someone in the Japanese forum...

Psyshop Iīm not so sure, but on Saiko Sounds yes...
For instance... if you could buy their releases on Psyshop, the new GMS album would be already there for sure! And I believe itīs not.... or it is??
Donīt think so...
Anyway, I think that this licensing thing european labels do with them is not a big deal...
this gms album is already on the audio galaxy... I believe much less people will buy it when itīs out on Spirit Zone, donīt you think?

Solstice is the biggest Psy trance organization in japan. They have a website that you can visit www.solstice23.com. It should have all the info. that you want.
If you want the comp. you can buy it directly from japan at www.techno.to or you can go to saikosounds like everybody else has told you. |

I believe Solstice was started by a couple of Japanese friends that started organizing underground psy parties in and around Vancouver Canada. Now their parties are FAR from underground and raking in big yen. Commercial (and expensive) as they are, their parties are absolutely killer.
