As a rebelled teenager, I must say that the army is the greatest transformation system.
Not only does it mature you into an independent adult, it also teaches you good morals and prepares you for the real life.
3 years out of your whole life is actually nothing!
Like I said above, it's another experience in life, a fun one, in most cases.
Learn to accept things with good spirit and you'll have an unforgetable journey!

Peace!

well psygirl its easy for u to say this:
"Learn to accept things with good spirit and you'll have an unforgetable journey! "
cause u'r army experince was so easy and light.. "responsible for the library" !
i think the army period is indeed " mature you into an independent adult, it also teaches you good morals and prepares you for the real life. "
but it also gives u bad experinces and things that u r sorry that u'v been there! from my opinion the army even give u more bad and negetive memorys then good ones..

i think hard and bad expiriences are good too, army time is defenatly not the happiest days of our lives that's for sure, but in life u must have some bad times and memories and that's what makes u apriciate the good times even more, i took alot of good frineds from my army time, bad and good memories as well .

Teh army usually treats u the way u treat it. It all depends on the attitude u have when entering the army cause afterall the "army" as it is refered to is the people u are with, wether they are your mates or your supervises, u need to know how to get along with them. In the more global aspect, the army is the best platform for us to emerge from childhood to the real world.           'I became tuned in on the network of neurological signals and cellular wisdoms that radiate at hundreds of millions per second.'

Right on brother! Agree with you word for word.
You all are forgeting that it's only a period in life which passes. After it all, you look back and just laugh and believe me, that your problems in the army is nothing compared to the problems that happen during your life.

as for U, Gumbo, my dear part of what made the army a fun fun experience for me is by being caught on drugs and chilling in jail for a while. I have been through shit during my service and like I said above, take it all easy, and it'll be easy! cheerz!

well u ppl forget the idea behind the army...
whats the concept???
in a generaly way.. to protecet our ppl from the enemy.. ok?
u look at the army as a nice period.. like the highschool period.. but there r many many soldiers right now.. in this moment they r in the freakin' watch tower freezing to death... or in ambush or patrol.. dealing with a sociaty.. of ppl that hate us so much! that they will kill u if they just have the chance for it..
and those soldiers loosing friends and famely .. and all that for a war that they dont wanna be in it.. but theres no choice for them.. they have to! and that is indeed good, but still so tasteless.
so i'm not talking about the commander'z and officer's in the army.. that put us trew hell sometimes... i'm talkin' about that there r ppl like u and me.. that love life and muzic and freedom and they r losting there life there.. mentaly and physcly!!
the army is a good period... sure! i enjoyd my service! very much.. but u cant just pass it by saying that it all a period of time and its over.. or some klishaa : "Learn to accept things with good spirit and you'll have an unforgetable journey!
this sentences r nice for other kinds of experince...

i love u ppl dont take me as a ugly person or something..
i'm not like my friends.. managed to recover from this freakin' army experince...
ofcourse with the help of the holy weed
;-)

This thread started really nice and became so heavy... we all have different opinions about the army, it all depends on how YOU spent your service, very individual...
my story- i was a cook (tabach) in mitzpe-ramon, finished 5 years ago, i really wanted to be kravi (combat solider) but i had profil 45 (today i thank god 4 that)... anyway- all the ppl in the kitchen in the army listen to very heavy mizrahit like you probably know, and i would always change it to trance and turn on full volume... the results- 5 broken tape recorders, 1 broken discman, and dozens of broken cd's (i was smart enough not to bring the originals), all 'thanks' to my commander (the rasar mitbach ), but i never gave up....
I can understand the rasar today, imagine full volume psychedelic music in the army kitchen and 3 soliders dancing like crazy while cutting vegatables... quite an experience, i prefer the partys though.. ;-)
