Got the album today.
When The Worlds Collide and Night Traffic City are the two tracks that stand out so far. Overall very good and a great successor to Movements.

Didn't order it yet, due to money shortage, but will order it as soon as I can.
In the meantime I listened to it on bandcamp, and enjoyed it. It's a grower and there's a lot to discover as always from Solar Fields, though some of the tracks already captured me strongly.
There's definitely a sense of adventure in it, and also a cinematic touch. I also like the motif that starts on the second track, slides into the third and then disappears and returns a couple of times again later on.
Also, the way the album explodes on the track "Until we meet the sky" is really great, epic stuff !
It's the first time we can actually hear that Magnus listens to stuff like Hammock, Manual , Bitcrush, Ulrich Schnauss etc ( artists I really like as well ).
But of course, this album sounds like Solar Fields, and Solar Fields only.
Anyway, looking forward to add this one to my Solar Fields and Ultimae collections.
Cheers !

OK, I have had a few listens and the tracks that stands out for me is:
Dialogue with a river
Night Traffic City
Sombrero (love this track!)
Until we meet the sky
A quick and dirty review:
The album starts slow with some nice ambient tracks. With track 5 we begin to get some beats and builds some momentum. Every other track from now on (mostly), is ambient followed by a downbeat track. The last part of the album we get that cinematic sound that was described on the ultimae web page. Track 9, Sombrero, has a "grandeur" soundscape which at the end fills you with pure bliss, IMO the peak of the album. The track afterwards builds you up for the big, massive conclusion.
I was a bit curious regarding the name of the album "Until we meet the sky", and this might sound crazy but; I can't help but thinking when listening to the album, that it's a persons life we follow, with sound and music. Especially when listening to the last two tracks.
You have the grand, almost melancholic sound in "until we meet the sky" (the end). And in the very last track "epilogue" (death), we get what sounds like the persons whole life "flashing" before us in a heart beat.
No matter what, this is another great album by Magnus which shows he is constantly evolving, but still keeps the Solar Fields "sound" intact.
![](/images/pixel.gif) ![](/images/bluepixel.gif) - The yeti loves to drink shnaps too, so he's like a real shaman... he, uhm, uh, if you want to contact him, you have to put some alcoholic offerings in front of the forest. |

Quick review:
For me personally, this is what Magnus has done: He has taken the very best from every single legendary ambient/electronic_based musician ever and put them into one. There are references to the old works of Vangelis, and there are references to the new and rather unique works of Jon Hopkins. And there are references to just about anyone in between these two. Yet it is a sum of all that is Solar Fields. Every sound, every note and every emotion is carefully crafted - he demands your attention; and he deserves it.
I will not say it is his best album; this is up to all of us to decide. But it is without a doubt an album that deserves the utmost attention. This is an album where new listeners (those not familiar with Solar Fields from before) will crave more, and old listeners will be amazed by the movement itself.

Wow, that's quite the endorsement! Now I've grown even more impatient waiting for my copy. |

Yep, it's like I revisited the Blade Runner Soundtrack by Vangelis. You can see the huge resemblance here. |

I think this really is the sine qua non of every Solar Fields album. Otherwise it's hard to appreciate. But if you comply, the reward is immense

Got mine today, along with postcards and incense. Pretty good xmas gift. Won't get to properly listen to it for a few more days though. |
