Just wanna say I completely agree with Bodhisattva in that many CDs have taken a very long time for me to enjoy, and in many cases in our scene it's dissapointig because often I have wanted to get something I sold off second hand quickly only to find it cannot be found. I know the first time I heard "Are You Shpogled?" I thought it was be crappiest music I set heard. I didn't put it on again for about 3-4 years and then I fell in love with it completely.

End rant           Cuntus Maximus.

Okay, then this differs from my experiences. Only one time I was sad having sold a CD. It was X-Dream`s "We created our own happiness". But there are also albums, where I am pretty sure, I can give them away or should not buy them .... I think, that this is normal for everybody. Otherwise we would all own everything, if we would have the money. ....
Anyways there are also albums, where I am not sure, whether to keep them or not, so I keep them . This category of albums I am also very unsure to buy. There are so many genres and so many albums, that are interesting. Well, it`s hard to choose. If I only would focus on Psychill it would be much easier.
Apart from that, there are also album, which seem to be nice on first listen, but in the end turn out to be boring after I bought them. None of those, I rediscovered after years.

Lots of talk in short time. I understand what you want to say to me, Bodhisattva. And of course, i didn`t just ruled out this album because i saw it is uptempo. For example, I buy and carefully listen many times Earthshine and simple didn`t catch me at all. Random Friday, i admit, was in my ears only as track samples but through samples i find the same pattern as it was in Earthshine. As Gunter already mention it, i always check most of your recomodations (especially from dubtechno genre since that music is a bit neglected on this forum) and i check this but since i can`t buy anything that goes out this i will avoid. Also as i am not in progressive genres for a many years now and it is hard to not avoid some good releases when they came out. And that is where recommendations take it place on scene. I suppose i wasn`t clear enough in my previous post so your comment is on place.
Cheers from Belgrade

Completely understood

I have to say though, that from the samples, [ Random Friday ] sounds more polished and more subtle than [ Earthshine ], and also sounds like it has a kind of a tech-ish touch . . which I like.

Anyway, I see your point of view.

Cheers from Israel

P.S: I feel that even though we all kept this discussion very friendly and polite, we nevertheless went completely off topic, and it kinda ruins the thread a bit.

So now let's all go back on topic

Thanks !

I must say that I didn't get into Earthshine either.

But I like the samples for Random Friday, and I have liked all of Solar Fields' recent uptempo stuff. So looking forward to it!           ____________________________________

Took me a long while to get into Earthshine, mostly because back when I first tried it out I still had a strong aversion to uptempo 4/4.

Eventually I familiarized myself with some other progressive releases, liked them somewhat, gave Earthshine another chance - and it really hit quite a few spots. As far as prog goes, I feel SF has some major skillz.

Anyhow, Random Friday seems to continue on much the same vein as Earthshine, but with more variety - at least based on the samples, some of which sound straight up gorgeous. Very high-tech indeed. Shed some of my heartblood in the form of hard-earned cash for a pre-order, eagerly anticipating the release.

Magical Track.. 2.0 was good this has become even more emotional. Beautiful 2nd half and the ending.           “What we need is the development of the Inner Spiritual man, the unique individual, whose treasure is hidden in the symbols of our mythological tradition and in man’s unconscious psych.” - CJ Jung

Overall a better effort than earthshine I would say. On earthshine I LOVE and still love the track "kick back" and I don't know if there is any counterpart on random friday, need more listens.
