well, i have used the hardware, and it rox! realy great, makes you feel like real mixing with a dual cd, but even without it, it's a great program. if u'r planning on buying hardware thou, get the d-vinyl which lets ya use u'r own turntables to mix mp3's.. thats GREAT...

if you realy wanna learn how to dj...
and not wank off with lame software...
buy yourself 2 cdj's and a mixer (with NO bpm count) and practice practice practice.
any other way is wanking.
only this way will you learn how to mix like a pro.

SMILE ! and the whole world will smile right back at you !

k heres a tip for peeple gettin stuck in beat mixing..

for every 1 bpm of increase/decrease in your next track, increase/decrease the tempo by bout 0.6% - 0.7%
it faily accurate upto 4-5 bpm diffrence
so if ure current playin track is 144 bpm and next track is 145bpm then the new track shud hav tempo dec by 0.7%

so 147 - 144 hud hav a diffrence of bout 0.7 * 3 = 2.1%

wat do u *dj* guyz think?

and for starters its a good idea to write the bpm of each ong next to its title on the tracklist cover..this saves u time, effort, n wth if ure gonna be high when mixin..even if it happens "accidently" atleast ur sure u will be able to continue...
to find the bpm quickly load the CD in bpm studio and u can read the bpm accurately

cheers

Try the Native Instruments website you can even get T2.5 with time stretching and track overview.

I don't like mixing with CD as you can't see where the breaks and change ups are, I have a Denon DN-M2300R dual MD player with pitch bend and that had the same problem all I knew was when the track was going to end.

Traktor rules, why would I buy two CD/vinyl players, a mixer and flight cases, stylus', etc. which a big and bulky and can never be upgraded just replaced, when I can get a laptop cheaper that does the same job but has better sound quality is easier and I can write this post with it? It is software which is upgradeable and it is Native Instruments, who make some good gear. Right now it is v2.5 and there are some great features by the time it is v4 it is going to do wicked shit. But get a mac a bit more expensive but by v4 it will be worth it.

Traktor is the best one out there.....i have one argument about traktor making life so easy for the dj.....u can never learn Beat-Matching is all rubbish....

i personally think that if the software helps you in matching more accurately & easily, you can concentrate more on playing tracks, progression and all the other more important stuff than beat matching. And when you start on a pro mixer, it will be very easy to find out whether your bpms are matching good or not (remember, you've been practising with a software which gives you accurate mixing)....you can play better....imho

if u wannabe dj u shud "know" where the breaks and changes r...rnt djs supposed to be heavy music lisseners who then play the choicest music for every1s entertainment
and oh yea heres a one liner for u geek djs!

What do I have to say?

I say who are you that I should care what your miopic opinion is? There are more popular djs than you who use Traktor, Cosmosis for one. An opinion is like an asshole everyone has one so I think you are entitled to your opinion but I also think your post is full of shit, hey but that is just my opinion.

What do you care how the music is played? It is the music that is important to me not the medium it is stored and played on. Tracktor can play 24bit 96khz uncompressed wav files which when compared to CD quality 16bit 44.1khz wav files, well do I need to spell it out for you?

It usually takes people time to embrace change, I understand that.

djsid...sorry mate, but i think ur full of shit.... do u think ppl don't read here (or maybe u don't read proper)... http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/25884/forum/2 is dedicated to beatmatching with lots of tips by lots of people....ur 0.7 % rule has already been discussed there....u talk as if you invented the rule..!

and computer games are not that easy either....why do u think they keep gaming competitions, because its SILLY ???? u make me laugh and cry at the same time...don't put down others....its ok if u cant praise them...and don't fu**n' shout....i've seen so many arguments in this site, but everybody follows the ethics of not typing in CAPS...first learn some decency, then talk bout mixing....u don't need to be a great dj, just learn to respect people

sorry it came to this....
