Will a sound change in any way when put into
a sampler vs raw on a audiotrack in cubase, or any other seq?
Cause i "heard" a difference on a bassdrum, but that can be an illusion. I used NI-Kontakt when i had this experience.
Thanks

it sure changes, there are many paramaters that can be set or are already set diffrently on a sampler then a plain audiotrack.

When you import a kick into a sampler, the sample gets played as a "one shot" sample. Specially when using kicks, you don't want the sound overlay itself. so be sure to set the sampler to cut the sample itself.
I'm not into kontakt, but probably you find a polyphonie setting. set that to monophonic and look out for overlay settings.
imo a properly set sample shouldn't sound different as on a audio track.

if its possible to bypass filter envlope and amp envelope, and that all other parameters are set to default it should sound as the orginal, maybe a difference in volume....
but as surrender says there are alot of parameters that can alter the sound, but as default it should not be alterd...
its quite interesting how different samplers can have difference in output...
go for a sampler that alters the sound in a way that you like...
