I like my psytrance to be hard, fast, gritty and aggressive.

I like my drum and bass to be soft, crisp, clean.

That's so weird.

interesting! i would not imagine that.
i like the opposite.

i have this memory of a sample of a fly (insect) landing on the microphone. its like buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzeett!
really cool sound- i think its on an old prana track... very psychedelic...
you would totally never hear that sound if the mix was thick and the music was too hard.

Yeah, it's strange. I have a really hard time dancing to >150 bpm trance whereas faster trance I can go without stopping and I lose my self-consciousness while I'm out there. Most of the edgier drum and bass has the opposite effect on me, whereas the minimal dnb with the cleaner sub bass and 2-step style percussion I get right into.

if ur talking about the overall atmosphere that a track provides then i think ur aiming exactley at the main elemnt that divides the whole psytrance genre in 2.
i think it doesnt realy matter if its 160 bpm full power deep psy or 125 bpm techish prog - its that atmosphere that will make the difference. personally im with the edgy industrial side of things here

if u r talking about the intensity then i think its a different issue cause psytrance nowadays varied from realy minimalistic productions to very heavy n full information load. n then ofcourse the faster u go the more intense n fuller it gets (using the same amount of information).

anyway i dig ur kicks n basslines
