They are so different.
I'd say QOTSA had a few killer tunes and maybe a decent album or two.
SOAD consistently put out quality music, and their singer has a really bright future.

I prefer QOTSA over SOAD anytime. Wouldn't say they rule the decade though. As for SOAD, I think they are highly overrated. In my book that's just highly energetic music for the masses. And their lyrics are really, really poor. The songs I know from them all consist of 4 lines of verse, then bridge, chorus, repeat. ZzzzZzzz.
