yeah... their best albums to date would be Zos Kia Cultus and Demigod... The Apostosy which was their last album has some amazing drums and eastern influences but it tries to be too brutal just for the sake of it, even Nergal (leader singer) said this...
I also like the fact that he does a lot of travelling and study before putting together his albums themes, rather than just ranting like say Deicide.
He has also studied six years of History and Latin at uni and is a qualified museum curator... so he isn't just some stupid bogan but quite intelligent.

mmmm looking forward to the new Immortal album out later this year!!
If you want soem good black metal in the mean time highly reccomend the new Destroyer 666 album

mmmm it's an awesome album by Behemoth... they add some interesting but minimal elemenets that I hope will progress further on their future releases, it's basically what their last album, The Apostasy, should have been hehe.

yeah Behemoth is killer ! And musically absolutely number one in this genre.Each solo is giant and with great mad feeling.
My new favourite in this genre.Since my metal friends in poland showed me canibal corpse longlong ago must be the first album butchered at death or so was in 90 maybe earlier they were the most impressive for me - in this genre.
But Behemoth kills them all seriously.

Canniabl Corpse WERE amazing, but they have released the same album every time, they don't really do anything new. The only cd's I likeof theirs are Eaten Back To Life, Gallery of Suicide and Kill.
Behemoth are kinda different as they combine alot of black metal elements that make their music very epic, as well as a lot of the middle eastern influences that make their latest album and The Aposatsy kinda similar to Nile.
If you like Behemoth check out Azarath which is another band with Inferno (Behemoth) on the drums, like a more raw sounding Behemoth.
I'd also say check out the last two Belphegor albums and also check Lost Soul.
For some awesome technical death metal make sure you check Obscura and the latest from Man Must Die *very political lyrics*
And if you want some more *fun* style check out criminal element which is a mix of dudes from Suffocation, Misery Index & Dying Fetus.
Great grind-death metal about just being criminals and stuff, the track "Suicide By Cop" has one of the best br00tal breakdowns I've heard since Suffocation's - "Liege Of Inveracity"
Anoth quality Poland acts is Vader and you should grab thei awesome dual cd "XXV" which is 26 trax from their past 25 years re-recorded, and they also have anew album out soon.
Finally some good non-satanic black metal coming out this year is Immortal's new album... you can get them for a cool price at shop.relapse.com
